honestly I have mixed feelings about this.if they bail out the buggers, the buggers don't suffer enough of the consequences
if they don't, lots of innocent people see their savings and retirement funds wiped out

I can't say I totally blame the lawmakers for shooting down the rescue package.... US$700bn is a lot of tamales for taxpayers to bear with. It looks like a case of getting the Average Joe to pay for the mistakes of the greedy bigshots.
Then again, even if the US$700bn goes through, it looks as though it's just delaying the inevitable meltdown....
