thing is, the Japanese mentality is like that...
what about the psychopaths in Singapore?
i had my share of bosses like that...
one told me AFTER the meeting to take notes... he was also known for physically hiding behind pillars and cupboards to attempt to catch out his subordinates.. he got called out one time by a very junior office
the current lunatic boss ignores everything i say then when everything blows up in her face, grabs all of the things which i say and puts it into action as "damage control" and actually manages to score points for fouling things up and "fixing it"..

we did.. half the time, no effort.. senile management liked it and promptly forgot the clusterfuck she created, and praised her..
i don't give a shit about credit.. but to think of that money and effort wasted, pisses me off...
and mostly, almost every project has this same blueprint.. of her causing a mess, and us kar kia cleaning it up and making it work eventually..

at old swiss, old man nataragan was more concerned about rankings that students' interests ....
so everyone took history and geography .... and the lit class was reduced to about 11 diehard hold outs who refused to budge .....

in ancient times, we only took english and 4 other subjects as our basis for results..so most of us took literature for the hell of it...
i got a C6 and the teacher didn't forgive me for that..
just like my GP tutor never forgave me for getting a B3 in JC

I didn't take literature, but history .... got an A1 for history ......
but that's only cos I had a real interest in it ... and studying for it was never a pain
I took some history electives in the university too, cos I really liked it ... got distinctions for all of those ....
sometimes I think I'd be happier being one of those fusty, tweed wearing social sciences academic than studying engineering and computer science ...
