Hang in there... retreat for a few days to lick your wounds, and then quickly go get another job before we sink deeper into recession.

I am sure you can find another job soon. When one door is closing, there's another door opening somewhere else. Cheer up! ![]()

Very simple meal.... stir fried spinach with ikan billis and fried egg on rice. What about you?

Reminds me of this neighbour we had who lived in the next block on the uppermost level. He kept the bedroom nearest the corridor empty and installed rows of tanks!! He had tanks wall-to-wall, three levels each side! I think he managed to squeeze about 15 tanks, mostly huge tanks in that room!! ![]()
At nights, when he left his slate windows open and turned on the lights in his tanks, you can see them from my block. Very nice... ![]()

I was so bored, I went to Boxhill (again) and brought home the discounted Korean fried rice with Chilli Chicken and Pork Bulgolgi for just $5.50. ![]()
Pinky, what's going to happen if you can't have an Ox baby? What's the year after the Ox?

If I were back home, I'd take shrekho out for a meal to try and cheer him up and wish him the best in his job search.
Nevermind... something will come up! ![]()

wow... you really love Box Hill, don't you? Even I live so close to Box Hill (I mean closer than you do), I think you go to Box Hill more often than I do. ![]()

May be you should move closer to us when you have your PR. ![]()

I was very fascinated with his house as a little girl. He had fish tanks in his living room and kitchen too! ![]()
Sadly, he died a few years ago from cancer. The last time I was back home, I looked but the tanks seemed to have disappeared. ![]()

Actually, I was just bored and didn't want to fight with the crowd in town, so I thought, ok... Boxhill.
Tram 109 is almost at my doorstep too. It's a long and dreary journey though. Today's journey was exceptionally longer because the tram had some kinda mechanical fault.
I love to look at the houses and apartments along the way and dream of living in one myself someday. I love a few of the apartments there - they look pretty large with generous balconies!
I love those townhouses on a compound as well. Got a bit of community feel to them. ![]()
Don't think I can ever afford them on my single income though... ![]()

ok, will one of you please gimme an insight into Box Hill?
Honeymousey, if I moved closer to you, I'll always find myself somehow at your doorstep. ![]()
But the good thing will be - easier to share food! On a few of my days off, I can cook dinner for you guys! Hehe! ![]()
OK OK, must learn to drive so I can move out further... ![]()
BTW, I've changed driving instructor - I was balking at the journey to Blackburn just to learn driving, so I asked the instructor to recommend someone at Richmond, which he did. ![]()

I am sure you'll be able to afford.... don't give up hope so quickly. You just need to plan and control your spending.

Box Hill, according to one of my Singaporean friends whom I brought there, looks just like Singapore's Ang Mo Kio or one of the housing estate town centres!
There are lots of PRC's, Hong Kongers, and Malaysians congregating there. You hear Mandarin and Cantonese being spoken there.
There are lots of discount shops, two large supermarts, one dept store (Target), and two malls there. There are also lots of Chinese grocery shops where you can find all manner of food products from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, and yes... Singapore! ![]()
It's well served by a Train Station and a Tram Station. There's also a bus stop there. Very lively place! Lots of restaurants and what-not.

Would be great if you live nearby. Can go "gai-gai" and different places....
Glad you found another driving instruction closer to you. It's too much to come all the way to Blackburn for lessons.

I think after Ox is Tiger
MPB was like a Dragon baby is nice -_-"
I told him that is the worst year to be born coz of the extra competition

How?! If I saved AUD$1.2K a month, it'll take me almost three years to save the 10% deposit on a house / apartment that costs AUD$300K.
But once I save that and get the mortgage, it'll be easier cause I don't have to pay rent and save and can afford to pay all the rental money and more into the repayment.
In the meantime, I'm stretched because I have to save for the course, save for a car, and save for a house.
All on one income! And we just received a memo saying that there'll be no more extra shifts available. It's really hard on a single income...

Yeah... Blackburn is Zone 2. The transport cost plus the tram + train + train put me off. ![]()
