TMD WBD... one of my male nurse colleagues, an ex-Singaporean now-Aussie, renounced citizenship and took out all his CPF to pay the deposit for an apartment in the swanky South Yarra area!
I've got way more than him in my CPF... I'm tempted... soooooo TMD tempted!! Imagine, I can afford the deposit for this and more...

and you people don't seem to even have safety mats. a fall on concrete ground can be very bad ok, esp if you land on your head! ![]()

I was involved in training safety when I was doing my NS....one of the things I had to do was to read BOIs and COIs and summarise them.........and I've been a safety nazi since then. >.<"

All I need to do, is turn up at work.
A lot of sporting injuries can go really bad. I've seen three or four bicycle incidents in my career so far that got so nasty that the riders cyclists ended up in the ICU, comatose! ![]()
One was a head-on collision with another bicyclist, another had his bicycle go out of control down a slope... happened in Singapore.
Worse, there was a pedestrian who suay suay walked right into another pedestrian crossing the road in the opposite direction. That other man survived with no injuries at all, but the unfortunate pedestrian sustained serious brain hemorrhage, came into our ICU in a coma, remained ventilated and all for a few weeks, then I can't remember whether he died in the end or became a permanent vegetable. ![]()

Hanor! I remembered very clearly cause we kept talking about this in the ICU for weeks because it's like super chao ji sibeh suay!
Everytime we came on shift, we'd go check on the man because we all felt so terribly sad for him and his family. He had two young kids and was in his early 40's nia!
my ex colleague died after he bumped his head on the washing machine
A month or so ago, there was a Code Blue announced in hospital so my colleagues in the ICU who were the designated ICU Respondents for that day went to attend to the call. It was odd cause it was announced as "Code Blue, Bridge Road Entry near the Pharmacy" which meant it was out of the hospital premises.
Turned out that an elderly man had collapsed on a passing tram which decided to stop outside our hospital and get help. When the Code Blue team arrived, the elderly man was already dead. ![]()
Imagine how traumatic for the driver and passengers!

A church friend of mine died at the age of 25 or so, a year after he had gotten married. He died from the flu virus, which had somehow gotten into his heart muscles, causing it to stop. ![]()
He went to bed after taking his flu medication. When his family tried to wake him up for dinner, they couldn't rouse him from his sleep. His sis, who's a doc, performed CPR on him, but his heart had already stopped hours earlier. ![]()

Why so surprised? Falls of any sort are potentially dangerous. Sometimes, even if one survives a bleeding in the brain, one may lose a certain percentage of one's previous cognitive function or motor function or worse, a combination of both!
There are also falls where joints or large bones are severely affected. If one falls on one's bottom, hip injuries would be one of the worst things that could occur!
Sigh... hate the night shift... it's just too hard to try to sleep in the daytime!
Alright... bye peeps!

Yep. Try to dream of the wedding dinner tonight. Hopefully it'll be a clambake plus pork roast with barrels of guiness on some beach in bali or something. ![]()
