I'm going on Saturday!! Wheeeeeee!!! Thanks sooooo muchy!! I call you, can??
Originally posted by av98m:Can they fix the problem? i've got a friend who sleeps with some contraption that allows him to breathe properly at night.
That's a CPAP machine.
Can be fixed. I've spoken to quite a few patients who use the CPAP machine and they all swear by it. They will not sleep without it because they all tell me that they feel so much better and more energetic sleeping with the CPAP on.
Looks like once I get myself hooked onto one, a lot a lot of my health issues and such will probably disappear!!
My close buddy was telling me that she thought my extreme moodiness and depression appeared to coincide with the aggravation of my sleep apnoea too.
Basically, I'm just relieved that something will be done soon because everytime we stop breathing in our sleep, the body gets distressed and releases adrenaline, which then forces us to take a huge gulp of air and in the process, we wake up in the middle of the night without knowing why and with really serious heart palpitations. If left untreated for a long period of time, it can actually trigger heart attacks! ![]()
Peeps, if you know of family members or friends who snore extremely loudly and sound like they are gasping for breath, pls get them into a Sleep Disorders clinic!

Gee.... That's really scary. That really explains everything including why you are so tired all the time. Do you know how long you have had this problem for?
I think it started in earnest in 2002. Coincides with the start of my nursing career. I do remember feeling really messed up with the shifts. ![]()
I'm so tired all the time that on my days off, I can make plans but most of the time, I end up just lying on the couch or falling asleep.
I do a little bit of housework and I feel sick and tired.
Remember in the beginning when I went out with you guys and you were all walking ahead of me? I was just really really tired all the time.

Or, get separate bedrooms.
Not every couple sleep well together and to me, sleep is of utmost importance because if I don't sleep well, I muck up in my job and I can lose my licence to practice! ![]()
I've spoken to the spouses of quite a few CPAP users who were my patients and they all say that they are not bothered by the gentle noise of the CPAP machine because it's almost silent compared to the snoring they had to tolerate previously! ![]()

Wake up... then kick me out... ![]()
But I shall persevere like my bumble bee gobies and wait till the opportunity arises to sneak back into bed! ![]()

Well, hope that thing really solves the problem and you can finally enjoy a better quality of life ![]()
Haha I think snoring is better than me kicking MPB or whacking him in my sleep >.<

Yeah! I'm really looking forward to an improved quality of life! ![]()
I've put off doing a lot of things because I knew that I fell asleep too easily. Take driving, for instance... I wouldn't trust myself to drive right now because I can and will fall asleep whilst driving one! ![]()

my sister say I'm generally okay .. except sometimes i talk.. haha..
my sister is the violent one. She's rather quiet, but she kicks in her sleep and last time when she was younger, we'll share bed and she'll end up hugging me like a bolster..
