This is worrying...my big toe started hurting suddenly after work some hours ago. I just took a look at it...there's a but of pus weeping from the point where the growing part of the nail joins the main.

How did that happened? Shoes too tight? Drop something on foot? Burst blister? Oh well my knees are now shades of red, blue, purple - all from the rubbing against the hard cement floor during class this evening.

I don't know how it happened. There are no signs of blisters or previous problems with this pair of well-worn shoes.
And I thought the studio for your class had laminated or parquet flooring.
