Not consulted a vet but I can't see the infection clearly in the tank. I think it's slowly drying up but if it improves I no need bring him to a vet at all.
Treatment is soaking him Salt water with Melafix (Tea Tree Oil formula for Fish & Aquatic Pets) It is anti fungal and anti bacterial.
Then I catch him out and apply this Japanese Yellow Powder (I dunno what it is but us aquarist all call it Japanese Yellow Powder) on the infected area and treat it with UV Light till the powder dries up then put him back into the water
This infection is quite serious coz it's shell rot
If it's just a normal shell fungus it is easy coz that one just catch him out, scrape off the fungus and apply melafix to it

Got this guy posted the pics of the monster fishes he just lost which include the giant arapaima due to a pump failure and his alligator gar which got swallowed whole by the arapaima

alligator gars damn big leh!
