Hiya, Cassie! The heat wave just started over here. We had a high of 43.5 deg C this afternoon! It was H-O-T redefined!! Tomorrow, it's expected to hit 45 deg C!!!
This time next year, I'm flying home to hide from the heat wave!! ![]()
Because it's so hot, I'm not going to cook for the next few days. Can't imagine facing the heat in the kitchen at this moment...
Pasta... yummy! With what sauce?

The players were all complaining on TV just now. I do not understand why year after year, they'd hold the Australia Open during the hottest month of the year!
The reporter announced that the temperature on the court reached 50 deg C this afternoon before they very reluctantly decided to activate the roof over the stadium and turn on the air conditioning. One female player was quoted saying, "If they have a roof, why not use it?!"

Precisely! All that talk about human rights, it's terribly inhumane to expect the players to play under the scorching sun! I wonder why the players have not boycotted the Australian Open already, because it's not as if the stadium can be converted to an indoor stadium. I think they ARE trying to save on electricity bills.
The heat today was so bad that train services to certain areas were disrupted for two whole hours!!! Passengers stuck at Flinders Station were shown on TV and they were extremely pissed! And you know why there was a delay ... the heat was so bad the train tracks got warped and they had to send staff down to hose down the rail and try to cool it down somewhat before the train can travel on it!!

I really hope we won't get an electricity breakdown the next few days, otherwise, without the fan and air conditioner and freezer and fridges, we will all melt and die! ![]()

Wish I could attend! That would be awesome!
We used to have Club 30 dinners at the Esplanade's Makan Sutra outdoor hawker centre and then hop over to Harry's to hear a good jazz guitarist perform. kopi, you attended those outings too then, didn't you?
