You hippy hippo! Where have you been? *Miss Piggy kung fu swat!! How are you? LTNS! And, in case you disappear again, I give you a pre-CNY "Gong Xi Fa Cai! Wan Shi Ru Yi!" wish! ![]()
I love that Instant DVD Rentals machine! It keeps giving me promo codes to rent two DVD's for the price of one at just AUD 2.99!!
I'm FINALLY watching 'recent' movies and having a ball of a time!
Last night, it was a blast watching "You Don't Mess With the Zohan".
I love that comedy! It's a classic! I place it alongside the lesser-known but not lesser-valued "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle". ![]()
Then this morning, it was the cheerfully exuberant "Mamma Mia!" Love the Abba Songs, love the cast, très enjoyable! ![]()

If you eat out, there's no way you don't have enough salt in your diet. ![]()

actually the 2nd harold and kumar is better. I find mess with zohan average as it was a little too dumb.
Honeymousey, I'm still thinking of you making Crème Brulée over your vacation.
I've only seen it in cookbooks and food mags, never had the opportunity to make nor try it.
Story of my life - love cooking but cooking for one is no fun.
Take this week, for instance - I bought 350g of Minced Pork, Two Zucchini, one bag of Baby Carrots, a bunch of three large stalks of bok choy, and I've been having the same leftover dish for the past four days!!!
I didn't add in all the vegetables at one shot cause I knew I'd end up having leftovers so I cooked all the minced pork to keep it from going bad, and everyday, I'd add fresh vegetables to the leftover dish of Korean Spicy Minced Pork and modify the sauce a bit. Day One it was just the taste of Korean hot pepper sauce. Day Two it had a bit of Yuzu Marmalade added in. Day Three it had a dash of Oyster Sauce thrown in. Day Four it had more hot pepper sauce mixed in and I had to stop myself from adding more Hua Diao wine to it.
Dried Chinese mushrooms were thrown in too. And instead of rice, I switched to Egg Noodles. Think today's Day Five already and I'm getting really sick of it. I'll probably persevere and eat the last of the Egg Noodles with it. ![]()
Sigh... wish I had others to cook for but that's on the premise that they are easy-to-please and will eat almost anything and everything. I'd hate to cook for people who won't eat this, won't eat that, or people who won't appreciate it cause they think that they are good cooks themselves.
Give me a couple of people who love food, can't cook, will eat anything, and are appreciative and I'm a happy Cult Leader! ![]()

It's a comedy!! Comedies are supposed to be a little dumb!
I've not watched the 2nd one yet. Waiting for the price to drop at the stores. I feel that the first Harold and Kumar movie was under-rated. It's surprising they're not popular outside the US.

i am sickkkkkk ....
I think other comedies that made me roar with laughter were ... ... White Chicks and ... ... ... Big Momma's House. And oh, Shrek and Shrek 2!
I haven't watched Shrek 3 yet.
Guys…especially Chinese food connoisseurs…what’s pig’s turtle black mushroom? Is it a mushroom or an anatomy from a pig or turtle? Or let me know if I’m reading this wrongly or whether there’s a “comma” after the word turtle.
From a Chinese restaurant menu for CNY dinner (and it’s verbatim, including where the next line starts):
Splendid Seafood Soup
With Black Skinned Chicken, Dried Scallops, Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber, Pig’s Turtle
Black Mushroom and Fresh Ginseng

i feel dizzy just hearing em.
I think i will just tough it out.
Hey missy, you still haven't confirmed on FB if you are coming on 17/1. I am going to make creme brulee for dessert for you guys that night so you'll get to try it!
Missy, you can freeze some of the minced meat you know. I do that all the time. As long as you can keep it in airtight container or get the air off the bag before freezing it, it should last for months. That way you don't have to eat the same thing every day.
I do agree with you though it's not easy to cook for only one. Even 2 is hard as we ended up having too much food.
How about try making simple meal like boil, steam or grill chicken wings/maryland/drumsticks just enough for yourself? Cook some vegies and go with some rice? That way, there's no leftover and you get to enjoy fresh food every day. ![]()
