I would far rather chop off my hand than send my parents to an old folks' home in Singapore, JB, or anywhere else on earth for that matter.
So long as I have two arms, two legs, and a head on an intact body, the welfare of my parents is the responsibility of my siblings and myself. If my parents can put up with caring for me for 25 years (and counting), I can put up with caring for them in their twilight years.
Some things are more than just about dollars and cents.... sadly, with magnificent suggestions like this from our illustrious leaders......

That's Singapore, Inc., for you. If you're old and no longer working, you have stopped being productive and have become a burden to society and should be shipped off to a foreign land to live out your twilight years.
Sad that the government would even contemplate that option.

that's why they keep telling us retirement is death and that we should keep working into our 80s...if we even live that long ![]()

I'm not making this shit up.

Not a problem. The gahmen will announce a "Progress Package" on the eve of the GE, and the electorate will forgive them.
It's always worked in the past...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA~ the stomp post also so funny ![]()

Which is nonsense. The only way it can happen currently is you're holding on to a job that's either at the very top or at the very bottom of the ladder.
i wonder if there's any way we can vote selected MPs out. ![]()

Make living conditions in SG unfavourable for raising a family, then punish those who don't want to have children.
Smart. Real smart. Which sewer did this MP crawl out of?
I really wonder what they're thinking.

I have a problem. I like this guy A, but he's seeing this girl B. B and I are good friends, but her sister C is my worst enemy. Unfortunately, C happens to be going out with another guy I like, D. A and D are alike in so many ways, but while A is rich, D is more caring.
If I go for D, how should I deal with the emotions of C, and is it worth giving up A for him?

Hey, wasn't that the plot from an episode of Beverly Hills 90210?
