can either cook your oats in milk or water or barley water. garnishings include dried fruit (eg apricot, raisins, mangoes, papaya) or fresh fruit (eg strawberries).
i guess you can use the oats to make the base for cheese cakes or maybe even cookies. or thicken soups.

i'm the lazy type so these days i buy the instant ones where all there's to do is pour boiling water over it. yeah, some oats you'll need to cook it over a pan.

I bought instant quaker oats
I'm too lazy for quick cooking especially since I have to wash the pot!!!!
I always add water in mine with a little Maple Syrup (Prefer it to honey)
If I want it richer, I add ina bit of butter :P
I hate condensed milk in my oats nor do I like milk in my oats
As for toppings... I"ve used dried fruits to fresh food to cheese to even Garlic Cheese Crab Omelette, ham, Grilled Chicken Wings etc :P
Basically I'm treating oats like plain porridge.

when I say all nighter, it means that I'm going to work through the night and continue working tomorrow without going home. hence the need for change of clothing.
