LOL
my relatives days back called me asking me did I hear abt what Dr M said recently. They just cannot understand if he could say it now abt Singapore's way of success should have been done in M'sia, why didn't he do it when he was in power?
somemore he was e one tat talked abt keeping wages in M'sia low and keeping food prices artifically low with quota system.
I said low wages still never mind, e RM is getting smaller and smaller. 1980s S$1 = RM1... 1990s, S$1 = RM1.30... 2002: S$1 = RM2.07.. now S$1 = RM2.41 so it means getting more expensive to buy imported items for M'sians
Reminds me SBS is still using e 1980s currency rate for boarding passengers in JB who are paying by cash
mmm... wondering where should I go today

I worry for my relatives. Some say wants to come to SG to work.. even the kids they rather them to study here cos of English
Reminds me of many who protest in M'sia over use of English to teach Maths & Science. They even said we failed in keeping our Chinese heritage lor - but pls, if we never used English would we be able to survive economically today esp when back then when trying to jio MNCs to invest here? I mean language communication issues

Good morning.
earth hour yesterday was hilarious...
some places turned off their facade lights.. some didn't give a shit... like OCBC and DBS..
some were late.. The Sail turned off their facade lights about 50 minutes late.. then turned them on about 30 minutes later...
the band at the esplanade park was an hour late too... but they played okay.. the band should shut up and play.. their "banter" was cringe-inducing ![]()
I only manage to see the singapore flyer 'disappear' from my home and a couple of buildings disappearing too. still lots of bright lights around but I wasn't sure where they were from.
i wonder if you all know whether Rhonda have been online lately? I'm hoping to ask her if my kids could interview her (as a nurse) :) through email.

Yesterday at Orchard some volunteers were giving out candles to mark Earth Day..... essentially, switch off the lights and use candles instead.....
Anyway, I can't help but think that while all these campaigns are nice and good, there's really no point in getting people to switch off their lights for one measly hour while they continue to blast the aircon at the same time. ![]()
The Live Earth concerts were the most stupid thing anyone could think of to promote environmentalism. Who would go to a concert to learn about saving the environment?
And surely flying in all the artistes and their entourage would belch a lot more carbon dioxide into the air than if there had been no concert at all? And what about all the waste generated by the concertgoers?

"Mr. Big discovers Jackson and the children, but they escape; Jackson tells the children to meet him at Club 30's, which turns out to be a haunted nightclub abandoned since the 1930s."

back from bus ride onboard SBS's Choa Chu Kang Cemetary special service 405 (the bus only operates 19 days a year).
