to me it's just giving ppl a wrong message. there would be no incentive to progresscos it now finds Singapore a more attractive place to flag their vessels, and e boss said he plans to eventually flag 50 of his fleet under S'pore flag.
Actually he had made warnings last year abt reflagging his fleet w/ S'pore flag

apparently tat guy actually did made an enquiry. because his poly results was way above the 90% percentile cut off grade -

I recall reading that shipping lines frequently flag their vessels in a foreign country in order to avoid having to comply with stringent operational, pollution, labour and tax regulations.

Evergreen currently flags their vessels in Hong Kong (e small 1,000+ TEU ones), Taiwan (it's home), Panama, UK & ItalyBut I forsee Panama might be replaced by Singapore.. It's move to Singapore is over tax
But I really wonder, cos he met MM Lee & PSA officals this week in Singapore

So it's just one case? What about those who got in? What were their results? And what subjects combo did they study? Maybe their subjects were more relevant to uni course? How does that compare with the 'failed' applicant?

I'm not too sure whether is it one case off kinda casesfor uni admission, for poly students from wat I understand it's based on 80% of their poly results & 20% O level results
tat course in particular is open to all dip grads regradless of their dip

could be a number of reasons though i'm guessing the 'reason' for his 'failed' application has less to do with his results and more with relevance of his poly course vis-a-vis those who got in

From wat I know was that e reply from e uni was stated it's over his O level results. -
It's like taking a social science course in poly and then trying to gain admission into a technical or science based course.

tat one is diff, it's not even eligible courseactually they do complile a list of eligible uni courses for e respective diplomas

that being said, its a fun place to hang out and play boardgames with friends, and the food does not suck. had dinner and a 5.5 hour monopoly session.
Had the intention to try out mind cafe once ... but it was really noisy, so our group walked out again ...
however, i'll try to go back there to try out their games...

Some of those games can be addictive! I remembered hanging around till I could at least get a decent score before leaving. Anyway, off for grocery shopping!
