sometimes I wonder about fatum
lots of updates on the aware saga in today's pap times. so it was an orchestrated takeover!! the new bunch was unhappy with aware's tolerance for gays and lesbians and so decided to do something about it. looks like they are pushing a christian fundamentalist agenda from now on. some members of the gay community are also not doing themselves any favours by sending death threats. but one thing seems certain, aware will no longer be all inclusive.

can someone tell me why people should be bothered about AWARE?
do they help women etc etc?
or are they as useless as UNICEF?

personally I could care less. I barely remembered their existence until the recent fracas -

seriously, the reasons they came up with .... and the press conference drama ....
but then again ... I think they are all a bunch of people with too much time on their hands ... like those country club exco nutters .... lawsuits flying around, letters cc'ed to the prime minister's office ...
and I don't see what's the fuss about .... if this new bunch turns that org into a taleban stronghold, they'll simply become irrelevant, that's all ...

it comes down to this: if no one gives a shit about them and they are ignored, they are basically neutralised...
it's the same with politicians... if no one gives a shit about them, and just walk off instead of hounding them with bullshit, they are neutralised..

but it entertaining ... and it does prove that women can never work together ...

Hell, one of their reasons for the takeover was the old guard's proposal to allow men in the organization to have voting powers.... they deem it to be abhorrent.
In short, even men who want to give a rabbit's turd can no longer do so.
So I guess to the newbies, women's suffrage == restrictions on men.
Sheesh, they sure are doing a good job at being insular and alienating themselves....

one of the vendors which did a piece of work for us went under
not that i cared about them or anything but i wanted them to do an update for the project.. now i have to go gather a lot of specifications and all kinds of shit and then go look for another vendor through the stupid online tendering system again instead of just writing a "waiver of competition" paper
