ok, for keeping of resale value, sad to say nothing will beat a rolex. but you also need to factor in the cost of ownership e.g. rolex charges a few hundred bucks to service their watches.
when you look at it from the point of build quality and form factor, there is a lot to choose from. but watches are very personal things, nothing beats you personally going to the shops and trying them on your wrist. all I can say is keep an open mind and also look at the other brands in whatever shop you walk into.
a friend of mine bought a very nice looking ladies watch recently, to me it looks so much nicer than a rolex ladies datejust, and it cost only $200+, from Seiko.
I'm not saying rolex is no good, btw, just that it's good to look at other alternatives just so you know you really want one.

Really have a good life these days
grrr... once in a while, the PC just goes into retard mode..
everything just slows to a crawl and if you just reboot it, everything works fine...
pisses me off because once, it went into retard mode in the middle of me writing a paper.. lost most of the thing because it takes about 30 minutes to allow a click on any button

good article on the aware pissup
http://www.yawningbread.org/arch_2009/yax-1012.htm
personally I could care less about aware itself. but I am worried that if these people get away with it, it will prompt other religious fundamentalists to plan takeovers of other NGOs and VWOs as a means of shoving their beliefs down peoples' throats.

nevermind, I don't want to be accused of religious chauvinism ....
but I can say for sure that some of these bible thumping talebans are very very intolerant of other people's religious beliefs, very militant of their own, and are inclined to espouse their views in the public sphere .......
I had a very very very long chat with the .... *ahem ..... older lady over the weekend ....
and well ... you know how I feel about some of those happy clappers with millionaire pastors ....
I think we've both scared each other off ......
still reviewing the document which i had initially planned to do on saturday and sunday night - which of course i didn't! this is what happens when you get lazy over the weekend!!!!!!!!!!

well, I suppose that solved a problem for you.
I'm reminded of an episode of the west wing, where the president tekans one of those talebans when she shows up at an event he is hosting.

I can still remember that lecturer in a HR Management class I took three years ago....
The last five minutes of her very last lesson was pure madness in that she was trying to 'enlighten' my class by proclaiming her lack of tolerance for religions other than Christianity. All the non-Christians (myself included) either fought to keep a poker face or glared at her outright.
I pummeled her to kingdom come in the end-of-semester feedback exercise..... which is quite sad, really, considering that she was an otherwise solid lecturer.
I mean, there's nothing wrong in thinking that your religion's the best, but you don't have to rub it in the faces of others..... and NUS is a secular academic institution, for goodness' sake.

Oh yeah.... I remember that episode.
If I remember correctly, he also admonished the woman for sitting while everyone was standing....
'Oh, and one more thing.... when the President stands, no one sits.'
I just feel that even if you don't agree with someone else's religion, respect the other party's choice.
Oh ya and I just found out Hibiki belongs to the Sakae group. I think Hibiki is supposed to be more 'up-market' compared to Sakae. You guys tried it yet?
