I usually like to use these non-image emotes, but can be abit hard to decipher - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_emoticons
If you google the ones with images, you'll end up at those sites with ugly emotes which you have to pay and all that crap, adverts and annoying stuff like trojans.
Gotta know the character's name.
