Gonna go for a 25-click run tomorrow morning. Two more weeks to the marathon, and I'm not fully-prepared! ![]()
I was planning on running home from school today, but looking at the map, I'm gonna have to run by the side of the road from HarbourFront all the way to Kallang.
Running by the side of the road during evening rush hour..... that's not too healthy for the lungs, no?
yeah hot hot hot. ![]()

I remember reading in Runner's World that stomach breathing can actually help a lot. To do so, you have to breathe through your mouth.
Apparently it allows for a much greater intake of oxygen than normal breathing.
Dunno how true that is.... I've tried it on the run, though, and I notice that it kinda seems to work.
probably.. or you guys want me to get on the way? ![]()

As in I feel more energized, and my lungs seem to be exerting less effort to breathe.
It's kinda difficult to do stomach breathing on the run, though. I only do it when my chest is aching and I'm really huffing and puffing.... it seems to relieve some of the strain.

so does that mean i start using my mouth from the start?

I dunno, man. Really.
I've always thought that mouth breathing was a bad thing.
Perhaps the effect was placebo? I don't know.
Like I said, I only resort to that when I'm really huffing and puffing.

i think i'll only start using my mouth when i require more oxygen
at least now when i use my nose, i kinda 'know' when i should be pushing myself.
