I have no idea .... but the contractor says he's got medical insurance ....
yeah.. hope he's all right.. and also that he's legal.. he should be covered by insurance...
wow.. the mantis shrimp bashed the crab so hard the crab shattered ![]()
and there are 2 hits... the impact of the club and a cavitation bubble which shockwave causes a whole world of hurt!
so when are they starting on the eating part ? .....

Hmm.... cavitation bubble....
For that to occur, the shrimp's limb had to be moving so fast that the pressure in the water flow surrounding the limb would drop below the vapour pressure, allowing for dissolved (cavitation) bubbles to come out of the solution.
When cavitation bubbles collapse, very high local temperatures and pressures can result.
In extreme cases, they can damage turbines and impellers..... in less extreme cases, cavitation bubbles are in fact used in ultrasonic cleaning equipment.
yup.. that's what happens to the crab shell.. shattering it...
another critter that uses cavitation bubbles is the pistol shrimp... that one uses a shockwave to kill its prey.. it's got this cool "gun" claw which it shoots its prey with ![]()

While I was out running, I got struck by a bad case of cramps in both thighs after just one click. I was forced to admit defeat after two clicks. ![]()

Your legs couldn't have possibly have recovered so quickly...
The cramps appear to be in the hamstrings.
Oh well.... I'll just apply good ol' koyok after I shower.

Possible.... I could have sweated a lot more than I thought the other day.
Reminds me of the time when I came down with heat cramps in both legs during a 24-click battalion route march. It was soooooo painful that I was begging another medic to shoot an infusion line into my arm.
But because it was 1 am in the morning and it was very dark, he didn't dare do it.
In desperation, I cut open a 1-liter Hartmann's solution packet from my MOP and drank it all..... it tasted like crap, but it did help to relieve the cramps somewhat. ![]()
Just read on the news that a magnitude 4.7 quake shook the greater Los Angeles area last night. Apparently, no major damage, and just a few minor injuries.
yeah.. i just read about that too.. reading the news...
good thing no one was hurt too badly

I overheated on my 24 click....came down with a 40 degree fever immediately after that.
I don't even know why the heck I was trying so hard....I was relying completely on willpower to finish it.
Now I think back, that was a damn dangerous thing to do.
