I booked an IPT session starting today. I even received an SMS reminder last week, telling me to come for today's IPT session.
Then when I arrived at camp just now, the guard commander told me and the other reservists that IPT for today was cancelled because it was a public holiday.
So I called the NS hotline to demand the truth.... turns out that there is no IPT session after all.
The SMS we all received was because of the automated system that cannot tell whether it was a public holiday or not.

tha'ts sucky! i presume your camp is also some distance away?

I thought it's always no IPPT of sort on PH
I suspect system forgot that today is a make up for ytd's PH being on a Sunday

Oh, and the operator whom I talked to just now just called me back.
She told me that my next session this coming Saturday has also been cancelled.
At which point, I growled at her: 'What about all the other reservists who are supposed to come this Saturday? Will they be informed of this as well?'
She said that this was not up to her, and that she called me back only because I called to demand an explanation just now.
At which point I shot back: 'Then you guys had better reflect on how pathetic your system really is right now. Be prepared for a lot of angry NSmen calling you this coming Saturday.'

AHM is on Sunday.
But do they really need the PTIs for sai kang? I don't know.
All I know is that they have an ultra f**ked-up system right now. If you can't even coordinate your personnel for peacetime physical training....
...... then how will you send comms for arty bombardment or helicasevac ops during wartime?

ytd's NDP, even NSF tio sai kang to become car park marshaller at Millennia Walk.To me, SAF/ MINDEF been e most ineffcient place I've ever experienced.

Days back feedback some f*ed up traffic mgmt at NDP vicitiny area... The first reply was tat they can't do anything to e situation. In the first place, there was no problem, but the marshallers caused it
I got fed up and posted some possible solutions to the problems, true enough ytd wasn't tat bad before the full road closure

why u sign up for IPT?

Self-train: unknown number of sessions, no proper training method, no medical cover, no immunity from RT.
RT: 20 sessions
IPT: 8 sessions (7 actually, since the final one is the actual IPPT), proper training, proper medical cover, immunity from RT no matter what.
For a time-strapped postgraduate student with a poor IPPT record, IPT makes perfect sense.

Some dude I haven't heard from in years just called me out of the blue.
He wanted to talk to me about some 'business proposition' about some ' network product distribution' which he couldn't tell me over the phone. He offered to meet me over coffee to talk about it.
Sigh.... another MLM casualty.
And to think that I thought highly of that guy.
