My mom had a cow years ago when mynahs and sparrows made daylight guerilla raids on a daily basis.
These days the birds have apparently taught the young that my house is a no-fly zone already.
That pic was taken 2 years ago when I hollanded somewhere near the forested area near the sports school.
Check this out...the world's longest bony fish, the stuff that most likely gave us stories of sea serpents: The Oarfish.
This is a rather small specimen....because
The oarfish can supposedly grow up to 17m in length and are believed to live in deep waters. The only ones that come up to the surface are either sick or dying. But appearences of oarfish in shallow waters have also been linked to plate tectonic movements: their recent mass appearences have preceded major earthquakes in Chile and Japan and Haiti.
Few have seen them alive. Its an enigma like the giant squid...but here's a footage of an oarfish estimated at 15-30 feet swimming in its natural habitat at about half a kilometre down.
Giant 'Sea Serpent' Caught on Camera
As for foodies...this fish does not apparently taste good.
let's update this a little.. a recent find...
they are termed Pigbutt Worms for obvious reasons
found in the deep seas (where most strange creatures reside) the worms float around inflated like this
no advertising even for charities
this is just damned cute.. weird on the account of its giant ears
Fennec Fox
the little fellas which live in the sahara area of the northern african continent have giant ears which help them pinpoint their prey as well as to get them out of trouble by hearing their enemies and getting away
Cute??? Red Panda FTW~~~
Red Panda wink~~~~~~~~~~
let's update this.. enough cuteness and fuzziness... back to plain weird...
today i present, the Greater Argonaut or the Paper Nautilus
a pelagic octopus, it's not really a nautilus but the female creates this thin eggcase which it lives within
let's update this.. this is the Paradoxical Frog
it's a huge tadpole
this is a drawing of both the tadpole and frog.. it is to scale
the tadpole is actually bigger than the fully grown frog... it actually shrinks after its metamorphosis!
Attack of the red panda~~~~~~
Red Panda's are the cutest !! I prefer to call them Fire Fox! :P But Red Panda is still cute. I want one !!
an update.. this one is bred for its long tail
Japanese Long Tailed Fowl
it is only considered a long tailed fowl if the tail feathers are over 2m long.. the world record being over 14m
still think it'll look better in a pot

Reminds me of the Standard-winged Nightjar
today, i bring you the Moral Eel.. it looks like any other eel but inside its mouth, is a alien-like secret...
just watch this vid => How Moray Eels Eat
it has another set of jaws inside its throat, pharyngeal jaws, which grasp its prey and move it down the throat into the stomach....
these x-rays show how...
and this is an illustration of how it uses these 2nd set of jaws
The goblin shark with its extendable jaw!
Tonight, we present the hydrothermal worm, so tiny that it can only be seen with an electron microscope, and found at the bottom of the deepest oceans near hydrothermal vents. Thankfully most of us don't get to see it.
it's been ages so an update is due... here's one which isn't very far away... it was thought extinct for about a century until it was rediscovered again.. the Borneo Rainbow Toad
name for obvious reasons
