okay.. here's a saltwater creature...
Blanket Octopus
normally, it moves around without its "cape" but when frightened, instead of squirting ink, it unfurls that huge webbing which makes it look a lot bigger and intimidates its enemies...
you can see what it looks like when it opens up...

another thing which is amazing is that it is immune to the stings of the jellyfish the Portuguese Man'o-war... it uses that to its advantage by ripping the tentacles off the jellyfish and uses it as a weapon...
another thing is that the male is about the size of a walnut (the female is about 1 metre... it drifts around and when it meets a female, it rips a tentacle off and gives it to the female which uses that to fertilise its eggs.. the male then drifts off and dies
Nice.

this is so common, we forget that it is weird...
remembered this only coz we ate one today...
Flat Fish
this is a flat fish... like the flounders and big huge halibuts...
thing is when they are younger, they are like any other fish.. but as they grow older, their eyes move to one side as they lie on the other side on the sea bed... so they have two eyes on one side of the head...
the side which is facing up is usually patterned and most muscular (thicker flesh for those who eat this yummy fish) and the side which is on the sea bed is white and "thinner"
lata we can use dis to plae prank when people sleep LOL
I think these can be found here:
Fiddler crab
Mudskipper
really cute creatures ^^. I like that octopus on the first page
here's a weird looking one..
Shocking Pink Dragon Millipede
found in the Greater Mekong, it's pink... which means it's evil.. covered in spine, it also shoots cyanide at enemies...

Actually, I think all of these amazing creatures might drop dead from gagging and throwing up if they were to catch sight of any of us humans. Who has the right to judge who looks "disgusting?"
To those who contributed more photos: Thank you, thank you, thank you! Isn't nature incredible?!?
okay.. since this is up, i'll update this...
Velvet Worm
a velvety worm which runs around mostly in the temperate zones of the Southern Hemisphere...
what makes it weird is this:
it eats smaller insects and creatures.. but it shoots glue at them which traps them, allowing the worm to go eat the hapless victim at its leisure
Barbados Threadsnake Leptotyphlops carlae
This is the world's smallest snake with a total length of 104mm (4.1 inches) newly described last year.
something newly discovered...
Cat Ba Leopard Gecko..
If you ask me, there's something villain-ish about this reptile
here's today's update...
Tuatara Lizard
what makes it weird is that it actually has a 3rd eye... it's not really visible and the skin that grows over it becomes opaque as it grows..
the eye is on the top of its skull and has probably evolved away from a true eye.. it is now very tiny and its use is not known.. probably now redundant...
Giant Earthworms
slimy and gross, there are a couple of species of earthworms which have become giants... just like the African version in the picture about, they grow up to about 20ft long
then there is the Australian version in Gippsland which is over 10ft long..
finally, to mess with your mind further, there's the New Zealand version... it's about 5 ft long, blue and GLOWS IN THE DARK!
muahahahahaa
Tongue-eating tardigrade....
The parasite eventually becomes the tongue of the fish when the original tongue shrivels off as the parasite draws blood from the tongue it clinged onto.
all look so adorable. feel like touching them ^^

Visions of Sigourney Weaver fighting Aliens suddenly come to mind ...
On September 10, 1945, farmer Lloyd Olsen of Fruita, Colorado, had his mother-in-law around for supper and was sent out to the yard by his wife to bring back a chicken. Olsen chose a five-and-a-half month old cockerel named Mike, but failed to completely decapitate the bird. The axe missed the jugular vein, leaving one ear and most of the brain stem intact.[3][4]
Despite Olsen's botched handiwork, Mike was still able to balance on a perch and walk clumsily; he even attempted to preen and crow, although he could do neither. After the bird did not die, a surprised Mr. Olsen decided to continue to care permanently for Mike, feeding him a mixture of milk and water via an eyedropper; he was also fed small grains of corn. Mike occasionally choked on his own mucus, which the Olsen family would clear using a syringe.[citation needed]
When used to his new and unusual center of mass, Mike could easily get himself to the highest perches without falling. His crowing, though, was less impressive and consisted of a gurgling sound made in his throat, leaving him unable to crow at dawn. Mike also spent his time preening and attempting to peck for food with his neck.[3]
Being semi-headless did not keep Mike from putting on weight; at the time of his partial beheading he weighed two and a half pounds, but at the time of his death this had increased to nearly eight pounds.

some of these weird sea creatures have the most bizarre of designs.
