I didnt really read everything on the Hindu priest but the reason they gave was totally bullcrap.

that sounds exactly like a couple of my friends. and they look so happy when their wives are overseas. one guy, whenever he is on MC, he'd rather wander around in town than to go home.

Last night news was reporting about the Ren ci thingy, i was telling my parents that almost all religion have their own fair share of drama.
I hate quarrels, screams and loud wailings lol cos in the end i will just turn my back and walk out. lol

well it's religion. It's supposed to be unbelievable, which is why leaps of faith are required
anyway jokes aside, although I believe this is a sham, there is a difference in how they treat major religions vs small/unknown ones. It could have been a real case where the person really believes in such a religion, but they would likely still force the punishment for not complying

the only reason he's not divorcing the woman is because they have kids and he wants to at least see them all grown up.

to be fair I've a friend who's gf used to be like that. He had to sneak out to meet friends, and we used to tell him to just dump her.
But apparently the gf's been improving and doesn't do that now. Wonder if it was due to some insecurities or something.
So things MIGHT get better

It really sucks to have children with a spouse you don't like, and it gets worse when they take on the said spouse's qualities. And then they grow up and bite back, claiming you screwed up their lives because you and said spouse didn't give them a model for love.

since we're on drama and children etc...here's my share
heard from my trainer this morning that his twin discovered his partner in bed with her boss last night. he called up her dad, my trainer and the boss's colleague+wife. her dad asked him point blank if he was serious about her daughter and if they intend to get hitch. of course the answer would be no since he's already married and his wife is expecting.
hellavu drama that went on till about 3-4 am. the colleague's wife has now gotta break the news to his wife - they're childhood friends.
