however, the people in my department got a point... to deal with enquiries which can be automated, the department has to hire about 30 to 50 more people... which can be solved with the irritating automation..
that will eat into the margin, or in public sector, taxes...

I can totally understand that .... but why do they have to make it so convoluted ? ......
and for some orgs, you can't even seem to be able to get to a live operator at all ....
thing is, in this google age, if I just need any straight forward info, I can dig those out myself from the website easily enough... if I have to call, that means I need to speak to a live human, urgently, eh ? ...
