that's between me and patches ......
her's special, no mayo ...
talking about mayonnaise, my aunt from Muar is visiting.. and she bought 4 bottles of Dijonnaise from the supermarket..

I can never understand the taste for mustard ........
used to hate suerkraut but I've learnt to like it .... but mustard ... no ![]()
*yawns*
Still at home.... I resolved not to go to school early today.....
Not because of tardiness.... but I was finishing up my #$&#$ 100-page term paper. I laboured through the entire weekend to get it done, and I'll be damned if I can't at least try to make up for some lost sleep....
Everyone I spoke to is complaining about it, saying that it's far too heavy and complicated and they spent far too much time on it..... for the sake of contrast my honours thesis was 120 pages long....
fark ! ....
what are you writing on ? ..... you'd never see a 100 page paper in the IEEE journal ... ![]()

Computer analysis of some pipeline....
I wrote a C code 16 pages long, and I couldn't seem to get it to give the proper answer....
So I thought, never mind.... the lecturer himself did say that he wasn't expecting all of us to give a full computer solution. And everyone is using all manner of programming languages.... FORTRAN, BASIC, MATLAB, you name it.... and those I spoke to pretty much threw their hands up in disgust and went into F**k It mode....![]()
wah lau eh.. just hearing you talk about programming makes me want to sleep already ![]()
good luck with it! ![]()

C always have these problem therefore FORTRAN is the recommended engineering programming or it could be that you have to declare double real or long real numbers.

i belong to that generation ![]()
Early Monday morning you guys want to talk about computer language????
The other students? Some (the ah tiongs, basically) are younger than me...... others (the part-time Masters fellas) are married with kids.....
I wonder how the latter group would do the project.... true, some of them may in fact have years of working experience in this sort of thing, but others would know next to nuts (one fella even asked if he could just use Excel).
Of course, C has its limitations, but like it or not, that's the only programming language I know. Just learning that took up one whole freshman module, and I figured that I shouldn't waste time trying to learn some advanced language.

I remember doing monte carlo on .... get this ... java ... ![]()
thing is, many different programming languages are suitable for a given job.
many of the so called O O languages can be used procedurally, and honestly, it makes life a hell lot easier without having to mess around with pointers and memory allocation and stuff ... you can focus on getting the solution instead of messing around with the tool you've come up with .. ![]()

you can use excel yes .... for numbers crunching .... and you can program excel too .... it's a good tool for operations research ... ![]()
I suspect cassie's an excel demon ... ![]()
and honestly ... your life would be so much easier picking up one of the so called higher-order languages .... many languages have C-like syntax .... and you'll possibly never get things like null pointer exceptions ever again .... ![]()

Yeah, well.... the lecturer said that we couldn't use Excel.... else, I might have just used it since I use it quite regularly myself to crunch experimental data.....
I wouldn't mind picking up something like MATLAB if I had the time to do so.... which I really sorely lack. Some other fella in a situation like mine (he knows C, doesn't know anything else) tried to learn MATLAB, and ended up coming up with very little when I last saw him last Friday.... he had already thrown in the towel and gone into F**k It mode.... ![]()
Oh well..... the paper's not entirely about the code, anyway. And I've gone into F**k It mode anyway where this module's concerned, all thanks to this term paper. So long as I don't fail this module, no one really cares about how well I do for my coursework.... ![]()
Yeah, I know..... I'm saying bad things. But really, it's either that, or the near-meltdown I had when I couldn't seem to get my code to work.

I did that.
I dont want to be reminded of them.

hmmm.. this sounds so much like: go fix the car.. but you're not allowed to use a wrench
