in the past, there was once the telegraph operators turned off the power and the telegraph still worked because of a very intense solar storm..
soo... it's basically like a free electric day? I wonder if the government will harness this free energy...
Despite all this, i still urge pple to save their work often just incase the computer shot curcit itself...

good huh... it's been some time, i din sit straight and my eyes glued to the screen and holding my breath especially at those scene...the car running away from the floor which was tearing apart.. the part when he rescued the family..
hmmm? wat's a solar maximum? Can we harness the free energy and store them?

yeah... it's good... but i think the content still lack abit of the touching factor...
The part where the whole california went down was very epic though...

nope.. it was huge amounts of charged particles thrown out by the sun which hits the earth.. these charged particles caused the electrons in the telegraph poles to move - electricity...
however, those were simplier systems which were basically electromagnets and wires.. our electronics are more fragile these days... imagine, if you are statically charged and you touch a computer chip, the chip is fried...
clicky here for extensive wiki article => Solar Variations
the sun is on an approximate 11 year cycle.. next one is 2012
this is for earthquake's reading...
2012 again? there's 3 fri 13th on 2012 and the first one happened on jan...
Jan, Apr, July...
Well if chips does get fried every now and then, then things will go real bad in 2012... imagine the banks etc >.>
Btw, are this particles from the sun same as though refered as solar wind?
how does LF check her weight? On a seismometer? ![]()

my dy dir was reading the riot act to some manager of the helpdesk of a computer shop..
seems like her son's laptop went to heck and he brought it to them to get it fixed.. they diagnosed it as an OS fault and then just wiped everything out and restored it.. all the data is gone..
they then had the audacity to tell him to go somewhere else to get his data recovered...
so she let them have it.. and is making them recover the data or she'll make sure everyone knows that their bloody company took advantage of and bullied a small boy ![]()

personal one..
the guy at the shop can tell the boy to go to Sim Lim and pay some shop about $200 to maybe a few thousand dollars to recover his data...
the boy told the mom who called up the shop and blasted them..
anyway, the shop manager admitted it was their fault already.. i think..

yah.. but this one was a clear thing they forgot to do..
they should and must always advise the client to back up the data.. if they want to charge for assisting to back it up, they can... or the client can choose to back it up themselves..
this one is terrible..
the boy took in the laptop which is still under warranty... the guy said OS was corrupted, then never tell the boy what's going on and just went and did the recovery of OS process or something like that, wiping out the data...
then giving the boy back the laptop a few hours later.. the boy checked the thing as asked where his data was and the tech fella said it was wiped out and told him to go to pay someone to help him recover the data...
so i think it is the fault of the shop too...
I puked out my breakfast again this morning. ![]()

Yeah.... at the very least, they should inform the boy before actually wiping the data out. And also, prior to any routine maintenance, it is the duty of the technician to inform the customer that some data loss may be inevitable, and that they should back up the data first.
I remember the times I had to send my laptop to the repair center. Even though the problems were not related to the hard disk (once the RAM failed, and at another time the DVD-ROM drive failed), the tech still asked me whether I had backed up my data before I handed my laptop over to him.

I don't exercise excessively..... and I'm not in denial when I say that.
For the past couple of weeks I've been running no more than 2-3 times a week.... and no more than 5 clicks each time. I haven't done long runs (>15 clicks) in over a month. Simply put, I just can't spare the time or effort to run long distances.
At least I do seem to be getting better..... my lethargy is almost totally gone, though my appetite is still shot.
I just hope I'll be well enough for this Saturday's exam.
