unfortunately not all doctors...and even registered dieticians(!!) are quite up to date on current research and findings.
and...a lot of the mainstream research on nutritional matters is funded by the companies that make such processed food products, with predictable results.
hey AV, do you get to see this at work ?

well, they're a bad short term solution to a long term problem. we can't keep doing this and not expect the country to implode. this year's elections is going to be interesting. you can already see the PAP intensifying their lying. and theonlinecitizen website has been hacked to death. ![]()

talking abt long term vs short term. it seems the govt can't plan things for e long term as in land allocation and sort anymore
you see all e new facilities can't replace e old ones in capacity
so it's confirmed, PSA is building a barging terminal at Jurong Island
damned stoned right now...
trying to get everything done before i get posted out..
i can sense the boss panicking as she searches for some poor sap to replace me.. muahahahaha
anyway, i dunno what the guys in MOE at the HQ are doing.. they should just get the cops, invoke the Penal Code where anyone obstructing the public servant from discharging his duty, when found guilty can be punished with imprisonment of up to 3 months or fined up to $2,500 or both...

I think there's this fear of the ah tiongs amongst the ministries cos they see our leaders bootlicking and brown-nosing up to tiongland ....
so when something like this happens, they pull on their velvet gloves ....
remember when a bunch of ah tiongs went to protest in front of the ministry of manpower ? instead of calling in the riot squad, the chaps there cooed and coaxed them ... it worked so well that other ah tiongs have taken to camping outside MOM whenever they have trouble with their employers.
fark, we singaporeans don't even have the privillege of protesting in our own country .... why ah tiongs do ? and note that it seems that only ah tiongs have that privillege, remember the burmese students who got their visas cancelled and deported cos they protested ?

they did charge one of the tiongs for attempting to commit suicide at the MOM building and jailed him, as far as I can remember.
and to be fair, a lot of tiong and ah neh workers are treated very badly by their employers. many are owed wages and have ridiculous deductions from their wages for barely humane lodging and food.

maybe?
actually sometimes I feel they just blindly sell away things like bus int so tat they can build shopping ctr n condo together (collect more property tax receipt). but wat they didn't realise is the int became smaller and now bus unker all kpkb abt no parking space to go for a break.
tat Jurong Island container barging terminal isn't tat basic afterall.
They're building it similiar to a container terminal standard w/ yard cranes and so on. A basic barging terminal would only have e normal stackers

of course they were badly treated .... you know what's the most ironical thing ..... it was an ah tiong company ....if you have been following the papers many of those companies were ah tiongs ones. Only an ah tiong would treat another ah tiong so badly.
and you see that a lot everywhere across the world, ah tiong companies winning construction contracts cos they are the cheapest, and they'll import in cheap ah tiong labour too .... there were riots in africa against ah tiongs recently, and growing resentment, so it's not just a singapore thing ....great, now you can't even go to africa without being spit on for being of tiong ancestry.
the curious thing is why the hell they would want to import ah tiong labour, in places, like africa and vietnam !!!!!
