All that would last me for three days. After all, during planning for deliberate attack, we would get fresh rations anyway. During the rest of the time, there was hardly any time to eat anything proper.
Needless to say, I lost an average of 3 kilos during an average three-day outfield mission.
usually, we'd gain a shitload of weight on an outfield mission coz we'd sit around, do nothing except inhale whatever the hell we brought with us, whatever Tuas Seafood (at that time) sold and basically smoked way too much..
the guys would smoke a carton of cigarettes in 5 days then come badger me for cigarettes for the remaining 2 during a 7 day exercise..
then we'd go to Tuas Seafood to stock up on "Vitamin T" ![]()

My record for weight loss was 2.2 kilos within 30 hours..... that was an unusually siong outfield. I didn't realize how much I lost until another medic remarked that my cheeks were far more sunken-in than usual.... I made my way down to the medical center and weighed myself to find out.
Anyway, my weight is topsy-turvy..... I lose and gain weight rapidly at different times.
In August last year, I was 64 kilos, and in October, I was 58 kilos. I'm now back to 63 kilos.

For my last few ICTs, I one-upped myself.... I brought along a few sticks of beef jerky (Jack Link's) along with the Uncles Toby's bars....
It's damn convenient.... they all fit in my SBO ammo pouches, and being a medic, I don't carry a lot of ammo anyway.... ![]()
hmm... being from Air Defence Artillery, we basically had 2 fullpacks..
one standard one, and one full of the crap we actually needed like canned food, solid fuel, bug spray, mosquito coil, cigs, noodles.. ![]()

My first day at field-camp....went to put fork and spoon in grenade pouch.....then made to do leopard crawl.
The end-result was predictable and pretty crunchy too.

16km? go for it. though i suspect transport can be a wee diff since it's early in the day and the trains might not be available.
else you could do the passion run - the thing to watch out for is injury and over-exerting yourself since that's one week before the sundown.
