I just went to supermarket, asked where can I find green onions (spring onions as it's known locally) and the lady gave me a puzzled look...XD
Didn't knew it is called spring onions too so I just get my other items...felt so paiseh. 11 yrs of British English education in school but now I tend to use American English, lol.
Is it called Qing Cong �蔥 in chinese?

i tend to use spring onions in conversations but i've never had your problem of locating it (and hence saved myself from asking)
