ho ho ho .... the angling forums are deeply divided over it.
Most people are opposed. I am too .....
this is the stupidest proposal from Nparks and PUB if it comes about. the angling body the authorities were supposedly "consulting" with, SFAS, is made up of atas, rich old farts, they are disconnected from the rest of the angling hoi polloi.
I'll tell you what will happen. The fish stocks will plumment even further. The problem is unequal enforcement. The rangers would go after recreational lure anglers who would release almost all their catch after a pic or two, while they'd avoid the ah tiongs and thai workers who go netting in the reserviors. A well known local angling blogger actually made a post about this and it got stomped too.

Hmmm yeah but inflatables cost like $2 - 3K each..... and we need to buy 2. That's a lot of money compared to a siton top which is.. $700.
there are double kayaks so you'd need only one. ![]()

talking abt digging shellfish.. I used to crab and fish in kallang river while the rest of the group will usually dig for shellfish...
There's a time when one of our group got stung by some "stingray-shaped" thingy in the sands... It has a hard shell and a long tail...
I heard from my mother it's actually a pair of living things... There's a male underneath it and the female usually carrys the male around... And my mother told me the female is actually edible and ppl used to catch them...
However, my fren suffered a very swollen leg the next day so we dumped it away >__> tat was before my mom told me it was edible...

Fatum: We dont' want a double cos hard to navigate in the mangroves with a double...
Acid: A horseshoe crab? It's a very interesting creature :D
that's a horseshoe crab ......
yeps, you can see those around pulau ubin ......
people BBQ those things and eat them ...... I tried it in thailand ..... they said it's like viagra .... hurhur ...
horseshoe crab.. not many people eat it..
interesting critter.. has copper-based blood so its blood is blue..
it also has a few simple eyes... hasn't changed in millions of years..
yeah... if I had known it was edible, I would have brought it to my mom -___- We figured out it was posionous since my fren leg immediately went red and swell after awhile... I actually kept it in a pail with the other crabs but I dump it away at the end of the day...
now every now and then, my mom been asking me to go prawning, crabing, fishing since she complained I didn't bring her along during my teenage days...
anyway fatum, how does it taste like??? soft, hard? sweet, salty?
*bleep*.......
DBS apparently forgot to send me my debit card statement for last month..... either that, or it got lost in the mail....
The thing is, I need that statement to claim some expenses I made for my project....
Ah what the hell..... I'll just print out the online statement.....

what you want, is to get a little trolling motor mounted at the front to navigate the mangroves .... ^^

on Bourdain, a local dude just fried it up in a pot after chopping it up
We only have mainly Amazon monsters in our reservoirs I think.
I should think the local species have more or less been eaten up
Yeah I know the foreign works eat those peacock bass and earth eaters etc
I wonder what they do when they catch a Red Tail Catfish
Seriously that one grows really huge but people don’t want to eat it usually because the flesh is black and don’t look appetizing.
I do know there are some Fly River Turtles in the Reservoirs I hope they don’t get eaten :(
i wonder if the foreign workers come across the arapaima, they'd be injured like that fella in River Monster who was hit by a struggling one..
it came at him like a missile and knocked him silly.. the doctor said the injury was like someone hitting a steering wheel in a car crash
talking abt foreign workers.
I realised e NEA new TV ad on littering and spitting uses foreign workers

the one I had, they BBQ'ed it, then flipped it upside down, cut out all the eggs, mixed it into a salad with green mangoes, mint leaves etc .... and serve it on it's shell
You know those big monitor lizards?
The Arapaima can bite off its head easily.
