When will you be getting the new No.4?
If the schedule released by MINDEF is correct, I ought to be getting mine at my next ICT in November.
I haven't heard anything more about this, though..... and frankly, I'm not too thrilled about the idea of putting my rank smack in the middle of my chest....

i actually don't have the "SINGAPORE" on my fatigues!
it's so old it still uses the velcro name tag
and all i have to do is fling it a bit and it kinda straightens out

so did mine when i went... before the new pixellated version...
mine is 2 generations older than the current one
the only one older than mine is the Temasek Green uniform

Frankly speaking, I really cringe at the sight of the new No.4.
About the only good thing I can say about it is that it does seem to blend in better in a jungle environment than the old cammo fatigues.
And as one of my pervert friends pointed out.... putting the rank in the middle of the chest can be a good thing. Now you'll have the perfect excuse to look at a buxom female soldier's chest. You gotta be sure what rank she's holding, no?

my younger brother got the new digital pattern before he ORD'ed .... the material feels a lot thinner ..... more breatheable and comfortable I suppose ....
I think bear's the old type they still starch till it rubs your skin raw ...
I'm pretty sure mozzies would have an easier time penetrating the new uniform though ....

actually I like the new design leh...I almost wish I could be called up just for the chance to wear it. my old number 4 is too big for me anyways. -
on the topic of boobs, the number 4 hides the shape anyway, I did ogle at those who wore form fitting number 3s at HQ during my NS. incredibly, there were some hot looking women in the SAF, esp Navy.
