  oh ya .. anyone knows is it true that u have to avoid "red" occassions like cny and weddings for 1 year after a "white" occassion in the family?

  well, that's what I had to avoid after my grandma died  a few yrs ago.

  one of my mother's majong kaki's daughters kena sian shang che hou bu piao. she is frantic that they haven't even applied for a flat yet.

  Oh, trust me, behind the scenes there is enough wayang to make several award-winning  theatre productions.....

  At least I can choose not to dress up like Hang Tuah with the stupid Malay warrior outfit and a keris stuffed into my belt..... *shudders*

  well, if you come from the very traditional family........there can also be no 2 red occassion in the same year.....fatum will have to wait for the next year.

  best wedding party i went to was poolside party, lots of food, beer, come as you are...

  everyone had a great time  

  the only thing which could have made if better is if they had a pig and a lamb on spits

  did i tell you when my uni roommate's brother got engaged, his folks put up a couple of the farm pigs on spits?

  everyone was well and epically fed!

  and given the pua cb knnness of singaporean chinese in general, I usually make I eat dinner BEFORE going to any wedding dinner. because they are going to be fucking late. :P

  but I won't be able to confirm the date yet .....

  another worry is fatumnette's mom ....
