true, every now and then you'd have a very bright spark from some unexpected quarter, or you have some really dumb kids from very bright parents, but the general rule still holds ... bright parents, bright kids.
Of course, we must not make the mistake of confusing education with intelligence, but I meant this from another perspective. A smart chap need not be educated, but a highly educated chap is quite likely not stupid. I mean, as an example, how stupid can a person be if he or she's got a degree in say, physics or maths ?
I suspect many of the very bright kids who were born to relatively uneducated parents, actually have very bright parents in the first place, the parents just didn't had the chance for more education. Of course, intelligence is really a function of both genes and the environment, that makes for interesting social and biological dynamics. Life throws up a curve ball every now and then, that makes for mutation and change, a healthy system.
true, I acknowledge that this topic is very disturbing to think of, but these are actually instinctive facts. Imagine dog breeding for example ... you select certain physical traits you want, and you put the dogs together and breed them. You'd expect the resulting pupsies, at least some of them to have the traits you wanted eh ? So why wouldn't two very bright sparks, who get together and marry, have very bright kids in turn ?
