no man.. they go into poly then to uni with almost a year's worth of exemptions...
and if they do not make it to uni, they have a diploma which is infinitely better than A-levels

a 10 or 15 percent allocation to poly students, spread around 5 polys isn't exactly easy.
if its 10 percent like the accountancy course in NTU, it averages to be like only 2% per poly? which is like less then 10 students will be eligible to apply for it in a cohort of 200+.
well, they do get a skill which is better than the A-level people...
ultimately, i think lots of people are also starting to understand that education is not the same as intelligence..
and quite a few employers are realising that too
heck
lucky didn't go Woodlands Centre.. else it's crying to wait for 160 or 170 at Woodlands Rd (usually walk to e factory to wait).
It's Johor public holiday today. Causeway inbound was jammed till 3pm.

well no doubt the diploma is beter then the A lvl cert, i do sincerely think that unless that diploma holder upgrade himself to a degree somewhere in the future, talking about the average case here, he/she will be struggling to make ends meets in the future.
especially when the ah tiongs etc will be willing to do the same job with degrees and masters qualifications.

e quota might not be very big today, but who knows if it's a continuing trend? Furthermore, e polys are tying up w/ foreign unis for specialised degree courses.
And dun forget, they could further their studies at C'wealth countries.

dun say I'm cursing or watever... Eventually we need our own ppl to resolve problems and move forward.
Looking from past experience.

and a lot of employers are also starting to get very wary of the "FT" coming in with degrees and being totally ignorant of what they were supposed to be majoring in ![]()

i agree, but the government is chasing away our own local people with their obsession for gdp and whatsnot.
just the increasing population alone is making people fed up, don't even start to talk about inflation etc.

yea, but sadly, the salary structure is stagnated as long as the situation remains.
then this gahmen can have the cheek to tell us to be cheaper, better and faster.

Well e ones running is thinking nothing is going wrong until someone goes open his/ her mouth.
even so, they'll try to hammer it off...
Speaking from my experience trying to get public tpt issues fixed. 1 gd example, Circle Line dwell time.

I've decided that faced with hobson's choice, I will go with whatever hammered crap opposition shows up. At least for this GE.
I still remember before all these FTs came in, people actually ‘chop’ their seats with their bags or handphones and people don’t complain that their stuff go missing
As much as I agree that not all FTs are bad eggs, I have to say there is a surge in crime after they came in numbers
sgf was wonky this morning? couldn't log on and then work piled up till up to now.
why the hell are is the PIE so goddamned crowded? "heavy traffic to Paya Lebar" which extended to "heavy traffic to CTE (City)" which extended to "heavy traffic to BKE"

The MRT is virtually empty
These days, even if I leave home for work at 9am, the train is as freaking packed as it is at 8am!!!
1st attempt at making cold noodles = SUCCESS!!!
ingredients all bought from Daiso...
the soba noodles and the whatever stock thingy..
i just added a drop of sesame oil into a little bit of the stock sauce thingy (which i used undiluted)
cooked the noodles, chilled the noodles in iced water until they became cold, put into the little bit of stock/sauce thing, stirred it around and ate it...
not bad if i say so myself!!
$2 for the noodles (makes enough for 3)
$2 for a bottle of the stock/sauce stuff..
not bad!
