Seriously, I think it's the job. Engineers seldom require them to dress well. Sales do. My bet is MPB is not doing sales! :D
MPB is an engineer
BUT last time he have a very sharp dress sense le. Ppl always think he is working as a DJ or something in the past
Now KNS New Year Eve dinner go to Lawry's I literally had to FORCE him to dress properly
If my dad had his way, he would have entered Orchard Rd in singlet, shorts, and slippers.
My mum is being driven mad by him.![]()

Why is it when it comes to personal grooming and dressing, a guy starts to get damn lazy about it after getting attached, married or after being married for x no. of years. -_-“
You know I’ve started comparing the single guy friends I have with the ones attached and I noticed there is a disparity in the amt of effort they put into grooming and maintaining their figures and dressing compared to the attached and married ones
In a way I’m complaining coz I find MPB getting lazier in this aspect as time goes by -_-“
Sure boh?
You might remember that years ago I used to have a goatee, partly because I was too lazy to shave my whole face every day.
That was pre-FS. After that, I had to shave it off on her orders.

I guess the married and attached guys feel more secure or become complacent, depending on the way you look at it. The single guys want to impress, although I can be very sloppy when it comes to matching outfits if I'm not in the mood.

Yeah I think he is secure and complacent coz he said since we’re already married there is no need to look good anymore -_-“
And the lamest excuse he gave was, “ It’s to prevent unwanted attention from other girls.”
I told him I feel really shortchanged because I didn’t allow myself to morph into a fat, shapeless aunty and dress like some kopi soh

one of my colleagues actually forbid his wife from wearing tattered or torn tees/shorts at home! said something about can wear tees/shorts but at least must be OK/not some crummy stuff
Actually, it’s pretty much the same for me.
Old and faded t-shirt/shorts is ok
But holey t-shirt/shorts is not ok. Those are to be used as rags.
this reminds me...i need to do another round of spring cleaning my closet

I think you need to ask a more fundamental question: why do guys want to do personal grooming and dress up?
Barring personal minimum hygene and standards, there are only 2 practical reasons:
1) impress/ leave a good first impression on others including your boss
2) impress and attract the mate.
Given that they feel less and less need for the 2nd (due to being attached or being more confident the mate will not run because of this), and the need for the first declines as you build a reputation or portfolio. Is there a logical reason to waste time and energy?
i'm adding to the debate now..
i'm actually a lot less sloppy now ![]()
A LOT!!! ![]()
