morning everyone~~~
morning
Good Morning... i had this feeling u guys might be talking about food, so i log in...
really hah...!!! hahahhaaa
And I'm back in school.
Sometimes I wonder why I bother to set my alarm clock to 5am when I eventually wake up at 7 or 8. I lose so much uninterrupted sleep this way. Does anyone else face the same problem?
I set multiple, staggered alarms .....
you may switch off the first alarm in a zombie state, but if you have an alarm going off every 10 minutes you'll eventually wake up ....
i tend to be awake just before the alarm goes off and i've never used the snooze button
I wake up at around 6.30 am every day for dawn prayers regardless of what day it is .
If I need to wake up earlier, I set up multiple alarms on both my clock radio and handphone.
somehow i manage to wake up about 5 minutes before whatever alarm i set, unless i'm really really dead tired and have about 3 hours or less of sleep before..
and the internal alarm clock is now even more acute because i work shifts
Oh, and I need a 20-minute power nap every day at around 4 pm.
Otherwise, my brain becomes rebellious and refuses to function properly.
The other postgrads in my office find it highly amusing that I would faceplant into a cushion on my desktop at almost the same time every day.

the power-naps help a lot...
i used to pass out at the desk when working office hours too... and wake up very refreshed
I think there's a study somewhere that said that the most effective power naps are between 10 to 20 minutes long ..... anything more than that, you'd either stretch it out enough for REMs, or else you'll end up feeling more farked up than good ....
okay.. Serenity next week on Friday
deadline = next thursday noon...
next thursday evening, i'm making reservations

Yeah I read about that.
As a general rule, you should either sleep for less than 30 minutes, or more than 4 hours. Anything in between, and you'll wake up feeling groggy.
That 30-minute rule varies from person to person, but 20 minutes is a reasonable ballpark.
In fact, some people drink coffee before napping on the basis that caffeine takes 20 minutes to kick in.

Meal replacements don't really fill you up for long, and you may end up eating more later on.
You're much better off eating, say, a tuna sandwich on wholemeal bread with lots of salad and no mayo.
You'll be much fuller, and you'll stay full longer for the same calorie count.

make sure it's not MIC and contains melamine ![]()
with that thought, i'm going to sleep so that i'll be ready for the night shift ![]()
I've always thought meal replacement powders should only be used by people who are too sick to eat or digest real food, and by hard training atheletes to help with faster recovery between sessions :P

actually, I'm just trying them out ........
these are actually meal replacement drinks for ill patients, fatumnette's mom left behind a huge stock of meal replacements bought by fatumnette .... she figured it shouldn't go to waste .....
the stuff I'm drinking were from the time when she could still drink and swallow, it tastes good .... like a very thick milk shake .....
yesterday I tried on a can of stuff that were used for tube feeding directly into the stomach .... it was vile indeed, lol .....
Either I'm getting super tired, or getting super cranky becoz no coffee for 5 days...
