Guys, I need your take on this.....
Intel i3-540 3.06 GHz, 4MB Processor
Intel H55HD HDMI i3 mainboard
4GB 1333MHz DDR3 Kingston RAM
1TB SATA II 7200 rpm HDD
24X DVD/RW drive Samsung
6x USB 2.0, 5 CH Audio, G LAN, HDMI, DVI Graphics
Headway/VIOS AYX Casing + 500 W PSU
Windows 7 Home Premium
Total estimated damage: $570.
On top of all that, I'm harvesting my GeForce GT210 from my old PC and plugging it into this one.
The HWZ people suggested that I change the PSU to an Aurum 80+ Gold 400W for $95, since Headway PSU is essentially crap.
What do you guys think? Is $570 + $95 = $665 good value for all that?

For an I3 processor I am expecting it to be lower since it is no longer the "in thing". Windows 7 Home Premium! Can they upgrade it foc?

As it is i3 is already a step up from the Core 2 Duo that I'm currently using. At most I play Sims 3 these days, and even then, I haven't even played computer games in months.... been too busy at the office for that.
In fact, I'm also thinking of not buying Windows 7.... the techies told me that they can simply use my old XP Home installer and put it into my new setup. Then I can use the money saved to get i5.
What would be more worth it? Use Win XP Home and an i5 processor, or Win 7 Home Pro and an i3 processor?

Hmm..... WinXP would certainly run like a pro on i5....
But come to think of it, being just 32-bit, some of the RAM will be wasted since XP Home can only recognize 3.2GB. Not to mention the fact that XP is becoming really obsolete being 10 years old....
Bleah. I'll go for Win 7 and i3.
The more important part is the PSU. $95 is a bit steep, but I suspect that my current PC's problems all have their roots in the generic PSU that came with it.
