I still don't get what the fuss over that is about ....
we are a conscription army, that means everyone with a penis has to serve, including all the ah guas and kuniangs and mommy's boys ......
having a penis only makes you male .... being a man, is a choice and a process .... it's quite natural that some boys will come out of it as dependent as ever ...

Because the truth is that it does take only a few bad apples to spoil the whole barrel.
I can agree that for every guniang like that fella who got STOMPed, there are many others who will knuckle down to do their responsibilities. Ideally, everyone would disregard the few guniangs and remember the numerous good guys.
Unfortunately, the real world is anything but ideal. All it takes is a few bits of bad publicity to unravel all the good work that is otherwise done.

Like I said, it takes just a few bad apples to spoil the whole barrel.
As any good human resource fella knows, just one person can represent the face of the company. And if that person does not present a good face, the whole company's face gets tarnished.
This fact was drilled into me thanks to all the front-line service work I did over the years during vacations.
As my manager told me when I was working as a bellboy at Pan Pacific:
'You are the face of Pan Pacific. When the customer sees you, he sees Pan Pacific. He does not see the face of Fudgie.'
