Oh ya I wanted to post this last night but photobucket was down

And to think Arts canteen is supposedly the 'best' canteen in NUS, with generations of undergrads having fond memories of it....
Bugger it. I'll stick to my own faculty, thank you very much.
Here the stallholders take pride in cooking good food with generous portions and at reasonable prices. I may tire of the food, but at least I know I'm getting a good deal.
Once a Peranakan stall didn't even last one semester here.... apparently their food was so poor that even at lunch time no one would bother queueing up for it.

Ya the salmon looks like it's not even enough to feed a cat -_-"

I went to the western stall, and ordered pan-fried salmon. The signboard showed this:
What I got was this:
Two ultra-small, ultra-thin fillets of salmon. With a miniscule amount of fries.
The Western stall at Engin is so much better.
I'm not eating at Arts again. EVER.
alamak
You just got yourself ripped off by the number 1 condemned stall at Arts.![]()
Besides, Arts is really the best canteen, IMO, and its not because of the food, but the environment.
Engin is stuffy and crowded, biz is still ok....but the worst is Sci.
The Indon food on the 2nd level is not bad...and if you order fish, you get whole fish (grouper)!
But yeah, engin's got better food, half my foraging zone lies in engin.

That Indonesian stall? Its first stall is at Engin. They got so prosperous that they expanded to both Science and Arts.
I very much prefer their flagship Engin stall - good food, good portions, low prices.
Anyway, if that bloody condemned Arts Western stall was at Engin, I can assure you that hordes of engineers will chase out the stallowners in the middle of the night while bearing flaming torches and pitchforks. ![]()
Okay, not that dramatic, but I already illustrated the fate of one screwed-up Peranakan stall at Engin. It didn't even last one semester.
It was a pretty sad sight, that Peranakan stall.... in the middle of lunchtime, the canteen would be overcrowded, and the queues at every stall would be really long, but that one stall would not have a single customer at all.

But its true.
This Western stall is already the 2nd.
The first was horrific. They left the meat out in the open with those heating lamp for hours on end, and you get to eat rocks instead of meat as a result.
This 2nd western is only slightly better, but didn't you notice that the queue is significantly shorter, if there's any to start with?![]()
Yeah, I liked the Indon stall at Engin, but sometimes its just better to eat at Arts especially if my lecture is right next to the canteen. And the Engin does have the best western stall.
In other news....you guys heard about the case where a Chinese fell at Pulau Ubin on a cycling trip and died?
Her family trying to claim compensation from the retiree who brought her out for what's supposed to be a day's fun now...![]()

I have a lot of rude things to say but I don’t think I will post it

What makes their children's life more precious than those who lost their children or loved ones in the NZ earthquake -_-
Likewise for the cycling case.

she was ranting about how asians talk really loudly on their cell phones in the library.
i disagree with her for generalizing all asians, because we know who is the noisy ones. also, she talked about how their whole family goes to the dorms on weekends, do their laundry, cook for them.

There is none.
My boss friend who works in China said that the chinese have made a career out of letting cars hit them so that they can demand payment for "their injuries"
Anyway, majority of them will just try to cash on the death of a loved one which makes them really the scum of the earth.
The worse thing is when overseas, ppl just think that we are like them because we are chinese!!!

PRCS!!!! They give us asians a really bad name seriously!!!
Its sad that she died la...
But...already pointed out that she wasn't wearing helmet etc.
And somemore....claim from retiree???
Really smlj...its akin to emotional blackmail for the guy who tried to play good host.

Oh yeah.
I saw that.
At a time when people are trying to rebuild, trying to get over the loss, here they were talking about compensation.

One-time. I rarely ever go overseas, if JB is not counted.
You can expect to pay around $300/annum for yearly insurance.
