I have said it before, the PAP has been graded by the people in the last elections, and, despite falling from an A grade to a C this time round, they were still passed by the people and handed a mandate for another five years. It has been a fair and open elections, the opposition got equal opportunities, even in the press, and especially online. Was this not democracy at work ? .... what's the difference between MM's call for aljunied to repent, and an opposition supporters' call for the rest of singapore to repent for the next 5 years ? And someone who chose to give his vote and support to the PAP has "given his party loyalty cheaply ", is "blind, misinformed " ? So someone who supports and voted for the opposition is, not ? ......
I do not believe cynicism to be the way forward either. For to a cynic, whether he is an equal opportunity cynic, or a biased one, the powers-of-the-day can do no right, can never do enough, he'd end up looking for the ulterior motivation, the self-serving interest, the hidden scandal, the cynic ends up looking at things only through the lens of his own interest, because he doesn't believe anyone else or group is doing otherwise ...

perhaps i have been cynical of the MIW.. but they gave me enough opportunity to become cynical and jaded...
and even after being hammered, this happens
=> Lim Wee Kiak defends ministerial pay
seems like they have not gotten out of the $$$-faced mentality yet... and they have given more weight to any cynicism people feel for them...
you might say that he's "just one" of the MIW.. but like attracts like...
i would like to be proven wrong about the pay review... but chances are, it'll be a wayang.. coz with people like Lim Wee Kiak, it would seem it's all about the moolah

You don't see first world countries like USA and Europe taking bribes and their pay is many times less than our ministers
I'm fine with them having a higher pay but not when it's like in MILLIONS and with ore pay increase!

Kuala Lumpur (The Star/ANN) - A seven-year-old was repeatedly raped by her uncle in Kg Sungai Dengkil in Teluk Intan, Malaysia, for the past one year, but the horrific act only came to light two days ago.
Tamil Nesan reported that the girl's mother saw her behaving strangely on Sunday night and questioned her.
The mother was shocked when told that her 25-year-old brother had raped the girl a few hours earlier in an unoccupied house.
She was doubly shocked when her daughter admitted that her uncle, who is a fisherman, had been raping her for the past one year.
The mother lodged a police report which led to the detention of the man.
He had been remanded for seven days.

Article like this serves no purpose to help the party, only serve a purpose to piss ppl off... Is he too high up that he cannot see those below? He thinks everyone earns 15k per month?

There is a little truth in the MIW govt's stand....S'pore doesnt have those stupid lobby groups many democracies have that do nothing but pull the govt hither and tither to generally undesirable outcomes, in part bcos the MIW pays well.
But to keep increasing the pay like they did is nonsense
