  things were very expensive too.. everywhere is tourist trap..no more nice beaches :(

  I just bought myself a 2.5-inch HDD. $95 for 500 GB. Lots of files to move around.

  I initially considered buying extra space on DropBox, but then I considered this:

   

  DropBox

  Pros: No need to carry anything around

  Cons: More expensive in the long run (US$10/month), 50GB space only

   

  2.5 inch HDD

  Pros: 500 GB, cheaper in the long run ($95 SGD, one off)

  Cons: Must lug around the HDD and USB cable

   

  Cloud storage may be the future, but I'm not gonna shell out the money for it just yet. I'll just bear with the extra bulk.

  PD used to be very beautiful LF. You can dig BUCKETS of cockles and La-La from the beaches last time

  And the rock pools actually contain meal size sea bass and also got squid and reasonable sized tiger prawns and edible sea snails (both the pointy and round ones)

  Err what you wanna know?

  If you want customized interface etc download GO. I think it's the best (to me) and they also have their own keyboards, lock screens, sms program etc

  the thing is small enough.. just twice the thickness of your mobile... and there are those retractable USB cables these days.. very small and fits in a small corner of your bag... so all-in-all, i still think the portable HDD is the way to go at the moment

  Yeah that's what I figured.... 2.5-inch HDD is bearable, more cost-effective in the long run, and there's plenty of space in it for all my work files and all. I even chose one that was rated for shock resistance (just in case I drop the damn thing).

  Heck, it's USB 3.0 compatible, so I don't see it going obsolete anytime soon.

  I'll just keep my DropBox free account for minor, relatively inconsequential files. But until cloud storage really takes off, I'll stick to good old HDD backups and syncs.
