Just had an awesome dinner.....before it descended into hell.
Apparently 3 folks kena food poisoning when I got back and 1 had to be sent to hospital for shock treatment.
On hindsight, by some stroke of luck, me and another friend did not have this problem because the plate we shared for dinner last night wasn't contaminated.
oh yah.. forgot to tell you what my sister's ex-boss told her:
charcoal and lomotil are your best friends there..
do not eat "chicken" coz it'll probably be crow.. "beef", "lamb" and "mutton" may be dead dog or roadkill, the fish is fished out from contaminated rivers and drains.. the sea around the place is polluted so even if it's cooked thoroughly, it may still poison you...
drink only imported bottled water, eat only imported food... the locals have an immunity to it which foreigners will not have..
good luck

also don't take "fresh milk" for your brekkie cereals; have cereals (out of pack/box) dry!
Actually when I was in India I ate lots of curds and stuff and I was ok
Btw that time I was just in kindergarden :x
We went to Bangalore too and ate the food and no food poisoning
The trip to India was so darn long ago but I still remember the place. It's really unforgettable. Not just the dirt & poverty but the colour, sights etc has this raw beauty that just takes yr breathe away
AND THE BEST GARLIC BREAD I'VE EVER EATEN was from this earthern hut bakery with an earthern oven.
Yes I was only 5 or 6 back then but I still remember

Yup. Its a learning curve, but we are doing good as we learn.
But Bangladesh is an awesome place with plenty of hospitality to spare. So its been a great pleasure chatting around with the locals....even if it meant using sign language at times.![]()
But work-wise, today we went with the NGO to the villages. And the women-folk are so proud of their new houses.
Sure. Micro-financing has its detractors...but seeing the stuff done on hand was still immensely interesting.
evening
