to be honest, compared to say, thai and japanese ladies, singapore ladies are not as feminine .....
and being feminine doesn't mean to "teh" with ruffles and laces and squeaky voices .......
ya la...
Compared to elsewhere.. But we're Singaporeans... lol

It's the culture my dear.
Over here parents teach their daugthers to be independent and not rely on the guy because men are not dependable
and you must be smart and learn to protect your self interest
Also a lot of women are fast climbing up the corporate ladder and it is not uncommon these days to have wives earning more than their husbands.
You really cannot expect them to be as submissive and not have a mind of their own or expect them to deal with housework as well.

You think the over-pampered princes will know how to cham siong meh
Granted some women act like princesses but the men are no better
So in the end there is a disconnect and all look for foreign husband/wife ![]()

once I was waiting at a cafe at bangkok's don muang airport for someone and I picked up a copy of the bangkok post, one statistic in there struck me and have never left me since.
according to the paper, more than 80% of thailands small to medium enterprises are run by women. And that doesn't include the street corner food carts and what not.
I think being independent and "strong" doesn't mean a woman has to let go of her feminine side ....
I once got to know a thai lady (okie, okie, that was long ago and far away lah .... ), a senior manager at a resort chain there, and she told me in candour, that it's a lot easier and much better to be a woman in thailand, a very tetesterone driven society (never mind the seemingly effeminate way the guys speak there, the men would whop your ass and chop you up without a second thought ), and that if a woman is smart and driven she can easily use her feminine guiles and charms to get ahead in life, "soft power" in her words.
That doesn't mean sleeping your way to the top of course, no need for that .... but i think men who've ever dealt with a woman who's a master of this game would understand .... a whiff of perfume, very feminine clothes, soft voices that doesn't threaten our manhood, some shift of the eyes, a zap here and there ..... and all resistance falls ... Look at yingluck, their current prime minister ... a very feminine lady ...
Someone like this can charm and win her way to the top, contrast that with a dyke like the SMRT ex-ceo whom I heard was a real bitch who tried to brow beat and emasculate all the men under her ....... both would get the same thing, what would one prefer ? ...

Like I said it's the culture of the country and the upbringing.
If you noticed our society is very much Americanized and the women here are really a softer version of the American woman.
Well, I'm glad that the guys who go to SBF don't make up all the guys in Singapore but it does lend an insight into how some guys think.

I was reading TNP just now.....
There were five forum letters on the haircut incident, all of them blasting the mother.
The kindest letter said that the school should have issued a warning first before cutting the kid's hair. Fair enough, I guess.
The harshest letter mocked the mother about whether she's going to complain about her son's haircut on the first day of BMT. The writer then went on to ask whether her son would be traumatized by his experience at BMTC considering that he was traumatized by a simple haircut.
Glad to hear there are still sane voices around.
well, the mother allowed the child to have a stupid haircut.. which contravened the rules of the school...
with a mother like that, a child like that is bound to happen..
kids nowadays start to get physical.. cannot control themselves... tsk..
I referring to the menthol can kill sperm case
