Now I really got problem with the tuition class.

Ironically, I find it easier to teach the not-so-smart than the smart ones.
The smart ones tend to be more brash and overconfident with their work, leading to carelessness. They are also more resistant to learning new things, convinced that their methods work (when they actually may not work that well after all).
The not-so-smart ones on the other hand tend to be more receptive to whatever is being taught.
It's like..... it's easier to fill an empty teacup than one that is already almost full.
exactly spot-on.
I was bombarded by useless questions as I decided to go for teaching them soft-skills on the supposed presumption that its something they are all likely to lack and I can imrpove them on.
And then the class soon got embroiled into a case of arguing over the meaning of "irrelevance" in the question I posed them.
You know? Its kinda like trying to teach those at SC pluralistic explainations. The ones from the *ahem* high class JC are very hard to mould. Which begs the question of....tuition for??
It just ain't gonna cut it.
I think I will suggest splitting the class if it carries on this week.
I'll lose dough...but I need to make sure the other 2 can learn. Its an obligation.
If they are not-so smart but willing to learn is ok
Worse is you get a not-so smart one who don't want to learn
Its kinda like the NUS scholar reject thread isn't it?
Like a couple of us said so many times, if your stellar grades dont get you anywhere, its more likely that you didnt bother applying....or the interview showed you up as having incompetent attitude.
But then those who didnt bother applying but chose to argue based on pure academic merit obviously think otherwise and miss those points.![]()

I especially liked how one fella tried to put me down and say that I was whining because I could count my grades on only one hand.
After I corrected him, I noticed that he didn't want to take me on anymore. ![]()
Shucks man. Just reading the tone of the original post, I can tell the attitude and character of the person who wrote it. And if he really did show that kind of 'I'm a talented elite, gimme my scholarship' attitude during the interview, his application form would get shredded on the spot.
And not being able to recall his grades? In an interview, that's a major liability.
All the more so when he's supposed to have seven straight As..... after all, AAAAAAA is a whole lot easier to recall than ABACBDA, no? ![]()
Back from lunch... 2nd half of the day to go~
still lunching
shit....
Gonna be jobless soon again....
oh well....
wat happened?

Actually who the hell forget their grades
I can still remember my Primary School and Secondary School grades for all subjects
After studying like hell... HOW CAN YOU FORGET?????
And for me that is more than 20 years ago for my PSLE results ![]()
I am quite a pain in the ass to manage. Somethings just easier said than done! :D
I still recall my results
Primary school:
English: A
Maths: A
Science: A
Chinese: B
Total: 213
O Level results are in good running order
234567

Goodness. I just KO-ed 2 hrs while doing the readings.
Well. Its a pity he's a newbie, gotta wait 5 min per post. But anyhow, I already pointed out that straight A is so much easier to remember than my rojak grades, but then....he went on to concentrate on whatever "top-tier" people I mentioned. Well, since he insists those aren't top enough, then what he's saying will also be that having those qualifications then qualifies you for nothing and therefore you dont deserve any scholarship of sorts. Classic Tan Chuan-jin LPPL.![]()
Like I said in my post...if they enroll in any honours programme, they'll see. That I am a small fry, and straight As is not-quite the norm, but probably nonetheless, very shocking for them in quantity.![]()
is it soooo difficult to check back old records???
If the person who I interview gives such a heck care answer, likely they'll heck care about their job too~

crap! is it confirmed?
morning folks
tuesday...
Ok tried the Golden Bridge Cheese Luncheon Meat last night
Had Luncheon Meat & egg sandwich for dinner
For heavily proccessed meat with cheese, it's saltiness is pretty similar to Malin
Actually I don't taste the cheese at all much more of the smokiness of the luncheon meat. Flavour is very very close to Malin.
Forgot to do a fat comparison maybe I will do it next time
Anyway was supposed to be my dinner but MPB made me share
ello pinky bear...
mmm... I see
Did you saw the Yeo's brand sardines?
sbst suddenly appear...
a talking bus is scary...
