By the time I'm done 2 weeks later, I would have had 30 exams already in 3 years.
Looking forward to another 8 more.![]()

Buses have been activated.
This is becoming more and more like the norm.
Seriously, at this rate train breakdowns are not going to be reported in the media anymore, since it is going to become the new normal.
Yeah and some guy drove into my friend's car so his front is totalled and he was bitching about the public transport yesterday to me.
He said he's riding to work while his car is in the workshop now
It had better not happen during my exams...........
Ah what the heck.
I'll just take bus for the afternoon ones.
C'mon SMRT.
If my SBST NEL can come up with the SMS service that is so damn crucial to me, why can't you???
You have what? 3 MRT lines that people take far more than SBST's NEL???

we will activate the interneck
teh power~
I was holding a revision session just now.
Because of the breakdown on the Circle Line, a solid 1/3 of my students were late for class. Some of them messaged the other students who were already in class, and they begged me to delay the lesson for as long as I could.
Problem is, I couldn't delay the lesson because someone else had to use the room right after my lesson.
Frankly speaking, I don't care whether or not my students even attended my lesson (at least 1/4 were MIA or AWOL today), but some of those who genuinely DID want to attend my lesson had to miss out on part of it because of the Circle Line fiasco.
You want to answer for that, SMRT?

You think they care??
If they did, they would hv practiced proper maintanence of their tracks and trains in the first place and we don't even have to waste $$ on the wayang inquiry going on now
yummy...

on the topic of nom... ![]()

and i want this pillow

i'm very thirsty today

Seriously a grill in lecture???????
Aww those bacon tortoises look so cute
if the MRT breakdown anytime now during the uni exam period, it's sure big trouble.
Ytd's inquiry..
They found out the MRT trains couldn't even make comms back to the Ops Centre on that fateful night...
They even asked the 2nd train which was alrdy have problem to go push the 1st train up... That's via handphone, as even the internal mobile comms set was down.
Looks like more scary details are to be dug out.
Ya they can continue digging while the delay continues everyday
I want solutions not what went wrong
while they continue digging...can i request for uninterrupted service...tall order ar?

Frankly, I have no issue with having a COI on the whole. You need to find out what went wrong in order to implement solutions to solve them. For example, if the COI learns that the train drivers do not have emergency SOPs, then they will force SMRT to make all drivers be trained in emergency drills.
Like it or not, SMRT is run by morons, so you need to find out what the morons did wrong and force them to fix the problems from there.
My main issue here is with SMRT still not fully learning the lessons that should have been painfully obvious during the December fiasco. For example, one of the biggest gripes was the poor communication between staff and passengers.
For the disruptions of the past few days, it looks as though SMRT has still not learnt how to do that properly.
Heck, I was stuck on the train at Kembangan last Friday. The announcements were in only two languages (English and Mandarin), and the announcer's lisp was so horrible that I thought the announcer only said that 'the platforms will be crowded'.

Seriously you think they only know of the issues coz of the COI
At the point the problem was found, they would have already known the cause of it
There should not be a repeat while this wayang COI is going on at all -_-"

The problem is, this is SMRT. We know it is run by morons. So we need smart people to come and teach the morons what to do.
After all, we all know how short-sighted Saw Phaik Hwa was, what with her insisting that passengers can board the train if they want to. If we leave all the problem-solving to SMRT, they will have a greater incentive to want to ignore the elephant in the room. With a third party involved, they will be forced to confront the problems head-on whether they like it or not.
Even if they aren't short-sighted, some problems can be more clearly seen by other eyes. Even seasoned experts can be prone to missing errors that other people can see.
Which was exactly the case when I got pummelled by three professors yesterday when I presented to them a mathematical model for my research work. I was working on my model for weeks, and they only saw it for one hour.
Yet they managed to see the problems which I couldn't, and now I'm working on refining my work as a result.
