Good morning, and here are the insane prices for hokkien mee ($9.90++) and chicken rice ($18.80++) at Gardens by the Bay: Link
It's not Chatterbox-expensive but the ++ can still get me a plate of chicken rice at the market. I cannot say if they're of comparable standards however.

Two words: tourist trap.
Whenever I'm overseas I try to visit mom-and-pop establishments off the main grid.
Local prices, more authentic food.
I think I already mentioned that there are still locals who are spotted munching on the food there....
Clearly, having ONLY expensive food there made a lot of sense to those who planned this place.![]()

Gardens holds bad memories for me...for the moment
Not even 2 weeks in and you had a torrid time there?
I suggest waiting six months before going to the gardens.
Right now it's still new, so all the kaypoh crowds are there. Some of the plants are also still relatively young.
After a few months, the novelty factor would have worn off, and the plants would have grown more.
A few more months and I would probably have forgotten about it.
Too many things there to forget if you really want affordable fun seriously.
Appetite wasn't good becoz lack of sleep...
Only had a chicken rice set lunch + innards...
and my back is killing me >___>

actually it was the disaster of a run of the Gardens by the Bay Run; the grounds and everything else were pretty. Guess that event spoiled everything for me.

Apply a heat pack? Could help.
for normal people, if they don't have to run, they'd be happier ![]()
Not the run as much as waiting endlessly for the super star, mini star, guest of honor to arrive...in the rain. And our good friend there had the cheek to take his time strolling in, waving to everyone like we're not gonna see him again. By the time the run got underway, rain rain rain, so of course it was called off. Then walked back to the starting point
Shooo headegg, shoooo tired, shooo jialat -__-

Looks like everyone has gone home indeed.
