  They must have brought it here from whichever city they came from. And when there are enough Chinese nationals around this air will be "safe" to them.

  i can't agree with the notion of using/loaning the  "pandas" as a symbol of friendship etc; it's just wrong removing animals from their natural habitat

  Thing is, when I went out and see things w/ a big field or big area kind of space.. yah the haze is very bad...

  I think there's some news article on Zaobao... I think it got viral ba... They reported that students in NTU are simply unhappy that all the shops spaces are slowly dominated by convenience chain...

  That's because the rents were raised, so the old Nanyang Mart was forced to close down, and thus the chains which can afford to have moved in.

  the landlords will be the death of Singapore...

  there was a nice shop selling dry bak kut teh along North Bridge Road.. near Arab Street.. doing nicely, reasonably priced.. the rent was somewhere about $10k...

  the landlord saw that they were doing well and doubled the rent to over $20k.. the stall decided to shut down because they could not afford the rent

  there are many many stories out there of little shops where entrepreneurs and small business people are trying to earn a living.. they work hard, become moderately successful and the landlord comes and wipes them out...

  they were bred themselves and not from natural habitat

  if they breed here, the baby will not be singaporean either, and will still return to motherland with the parents 10 years on
