In the US, they bail out the corrupt bankers by using taxpayers' money.
I'm still trying to make sense of the reasoning behind that.

They have some kind of belief that the big banks are "too big to fail", and the bankers have the politicians in there pockets. How else do you think it's possible for them to spend billions on campaigning every 4 years?
