Good to hear you're doing well!
Spring doesn't officially begin until March 20 in the northern hemisphere, but one wouldn't know that from the crazy weather we've been having here in the US. Even though March is usually the snowiest month of the winter, the amount of snow that has fallen in some parts of the country is unreal. Minnesota, fortunately, hasn't been hit with any snowstorms of epic proportions... yet!

wow...you must love japan. I find it expensive....anyway if I hv my way, i may be in eastern tibet or spiti valley/ladekh in sep
Wow, that sounds like it's going to be a very... exotic vacation! What made you decide on that locale? Will you be travelling solo or as part of a group?
Travelling in Japan is not as expensive as one might be led to believe. Hotel rates vary widely depending on the time of the year; May is an off-peak travel time within Japan and I was able to secure a decently-rated business hotel within a ten-minute walk of the Shin-Osaka station for just US$29/night.
Food expenses can be kept in check by observing where the locals go to eat, and doing likewise. Or buying food at the supermarket and throwing it into the fridge in the hotel room.
It also helps that the US dollar is currently doing spectaculary well against the Japanese yen. During my last trip to Japan, it was 76 yen to the US dollar; it is currently about 95 yen to the US dollar.
