I like buses.
But I hardly see what's the point of hankering after something like that.
The only time I would indulge in the same way would be to take a bus I would fancy on a whim when it appears in front of me, and then end up making transfers and looking for some food before heading eventually home, or to wherever I was headed.

I had an interesting experience at Kent Ridge MRT.
A woman came up to me, asking for directions.
Woman: Excuse me, where is Kent Ridge Hospital?
Me: There it is. *point towards NUH*
Woman: No, no, no, that says 'National University Hospital'. I want Kent Ridge Hospital.
Me: There is no Kent Ridge Hospital. There is a Kent Ridge Wing in this hospital, though.
Woman: No, no, no..... KENT RIDGE HOSPITAL!
Me: This is the only hospital here in Kent Ridge.
Woman: *storms off*

I'm guessing it's one of the following:
1. She actually meant to go to Kent Ridge Wing at NUH, but she thought that it was a separate hospital in itself.
2. Someone told her to 'go to the hospital at Kent Ridge', and she interpreted that to literally mean 'go to Kent Ridge Hospital'.

ah Bear... $1.1bn is not for the running cost of the typical day to day svs... it's like meant for the additional fleet... one example is that bus 333 that hardly anyone takes [it's there for the ppl at Toh Guan]... not much load, but want to cut waiting time... so govt intervene in it... no doubt I find one thing strange on the matter though... retail receipts...

They should've used their profits from the previous years to pruchase those buses like most private companies, but no, they are using Ah Gong's money, supplied by taxpayers. They're not making obscene profits to improve the public transport services but to stuff the coffers of the management and shareholders.

the problem with these... this is what I find.. If I look at it in macro pov, the entire bus routing system needs a cleanup before any improvements can occur... unless ppl can say ok, the routing system has to go and be reviewed... seriously, this one if nothing is done... sooner or later, one fine day a chunk of bus rts would end up become like Hong Kong's problem now...

running costs or not, $1.1 billion of TAXPAYER money is $1.1 billion...

SMRT's nonsense made worst is the 80% divd payout... The thing is, then in reality who going to pay for the MRT mechanical items replacement aft their usage years?? That's why, in reality... The co has to keep the money, but not into stupid spending and simi high divd payout... or unless, ppl want to whallop the issue on another end...
