I'm just wondering whether the higher-ups going to call for a by-election.
My head says yes, because they're not going to risk their own integrity (and future votes) over one idiot who couldn't keep his pecker in check. Surely they must recognize that WP won a serious amount of goodwill by choosing to risk a precious seat in Parliament over the continued services of an idiot.
My heart says no, because lately there have been too many examples of the higher-ups being too dumb and blind to do the right thing.

Thanks to him we don't have to come up with anything memorable for the last repeating date in our lifetimes. He's already done it for us.
Doesn't seem memorable enough though.
Hopefully something better comes along.
Well, PAP's attacks on WP during the Yaw saga are going to come back to haunt them.
Though I have to point out that there's one fundamental difference: Palmer voluntarily resigned, while Yaw had to be fired.

We've got less than 7.5 hours to go and do something about it.

However, the Yaw/WP saga set an example, so Palmer had to come clean or risk tarnishing the party's integrity (or what little integrity it has).
If there hadn't been a precedent I doubt the news about the affair would have seen the light of day.
There is also the issue that PAP has much more leverage to make Micheal Palmer "come clean" than WP had with Yaw. They had lots of options both carrot and/or stick to use given their dominant position.
The maestro that was Ravi Shankar passed away this morning. He also happens to be the father of Norah Jones.

she's one of my go-to musicians. am also liking yuna (malaysian gal based in NY i think) at the moment.
Was flipping through my friend's copy of TNP just now. Apparently last Saturday an anonymous source gave them screenshots of the flirty SMSes between Palmer and the woman. TNP had been waiting for yesterday's announcement before publishing the screenshots.
I'm in two minds over the decision to out the woman involved and publicly identify her.
On one hand, it might well be an attempt to pre-empt the CSIs of EDMW et al. Which may not be a bad thing, seeing as how the CSIs have inflicted collateral damage before on totally innocent people.
On the other hand, I can't shake off the feeling that there's an element of 'If I'm going down, you're going down with me' in the decision-making process.
The Nuisance Paper seems to be the go-to guys for scandal...
and looks like the CSI people are making a difference...
anyway, it was a damned fool thing for both the people involved to do, and i wonder just how many others in power are also philandering?
Let's face it; TNP is pretty much the local version of US supermarket tabloids.
It is only good for three things: sex, sports, and scandals.
Sometimes, all three at the same time (think John Terry and Tiger Woods). ![]()
Early in the morning, the prof whatsapp me about the scandal...![]()
I'm back from the mountain~
How is everyone guys? I'm sooooo excited over this palmer PAssion news going on ![]()
I'm wondering will LKY come out and say that palmer has let his voters down etc etc... The same thing he said to Yaw...
Anyway, 2012 seems like a beri sexciting year eh...? ![]()
